Yesterday, July 9th, was my wife's 62nd birthday which she enjoyed very well. She came home from work at 6 pm and wanted to eat out at Applebee's restaurant so we took our grand daughter too and she ate good and enjoyed being out to eat for a change!! Normally I go pick up food for all of us when my wife get home or having it here when she get home!!
Today she has Praise dance practice at church so she will stop after her practice and get her a bite to eat I'm sure!! We'll find something or
I'm nearing nine years after my stroke and I have that many years in discovering how strokes are in each person's life and the number of other people it affects! When you think you are the only one with a problem all you need to do is read some of the members blogs!! We are all in the same boat and the problems are more for some and maybe less for others but overall we are going through the same hoops dealing with recovery of a stroke and giving care to the survivors around the world!

This is a disorder many soldiers suffer with and have for many years. In earlier wars it was called Shell Shock then to my knowledge from the Vietnam war to Iraq and Afghanistan it was known as PTSD. I woke up to real bad news this morning about a lone gunman taking innocent lives in a movie theater last evening at a special midnight showing of "Batman" the movie! The doctors have discovered what caused my condition to go downhill. After days of testing and examinations of my whole body it was found my digestive system is contaminated with major bad bacteria. Well, we made it back yesterday from my brother's funeral and Home Going services. It was a trying time for me since he was a month away from his 89th birthday. He was a devoted Christian Like our mom was. I learned he was also a deacon in his church and was always there for duty. In fact I remember he joined that same church way back in 1950 and been active there since. He was given a great funeral in all respects.

Honestly, one never knows what tomorrow brings. We had no rain in Texas for so long it was a drought. Now I'm in Louisiana, it's raining and the Mississippi river water is coming this way next week. I would think it being 15 feet below sea level and thw river water is coming, some homes will be lost again! We are helping grab what we can and hitail it back to Texas.

She got back today tired as can be from driving that 8 hours from New Orleans to Killeen Texas and all the wedding hoopla for a couple days. I don't think I would have made it staying awake all that time at my age. She says a good time was had for all attendees and plenty food and drinks to quench any thrust. I am seeing 2 doctors, taking several meds, had my colonoscopy, but now I'm told I got serious medical issues they telling my wife. I have trouble walking now. I am one day away from the day of the stroke I survived 10 years ago!

Well, for many of us we can look ahead to what's next for us. Well, the left eye was such a success in removing the cataract I decided to go ahead and do the right eye on the 16th of May at the VA. I can really see so much better it's astonishing to me. And if I put my glasses on they are so strong it takes my sight in the left eye away. I may not even need glasses anymore after the right eye is corrected if I continue to see this clearly when both are done. Then age is not on my side so I must do this now I'm not getting any younger each day.

Well, by now many of you members know about the deal that went down in Colorado! I'm saying we are here living with pains some of us can't walk, can't see, can't talk like we want to or get about on our own but no matter our individual conditions we have life and life goes on as it has for years!! I'm glad about life with my family because this is my fourth try at being the husband and head of household! And by golly, it's working now for fourteen years and I thank God!!
