Hurricanes are not new to us and it appears they come yearly and have their own seasons of destruction's somewhere around the United States and the tropical countries and town! It seem now even earthquakes are more plentiful than years ago! Tornadoes are happening more often lately in the US and all of these mother nature functions gives all of us something more to be concerned about yearly in seasons!

I'm slow not to steady on my feet so I'm thinking if I get on my scooter and ride around the casino floors play a few of the machines I might get real lucky and hit one of them for a few quarters and take my mind off not being able to walk very good.....
My wife wants to go play some so I may as well follow her since she is off work this coming week while our daughter and grand daughter care for the two dogs... Before I know it school will have started back pretty soon so it is time to do so
We all live day by day and we never know if a stroke will come along or not or perhaps we have already survived a stroke or two.... We never know one day to the next if we will even be here the following day because life is fragile as we all exist as best we can with what we are having to deal with..... I guess I'm OK according to my doctor, it took many test and five days for him to say the slow heart beat at my age and my activities was somewhat usual!! Maybe that's another way to say I couldn't find what is causing the slow heart beat but don't be too concerned right now!! I read blogs last week and today by other members and they made me think! I decided to get out of town and drive down to San Antonio for a senior bowling tournament today through Sunday. My wife says "GO" so I'm going later today, it's a chance to see many of my old bowlers I competed with and against until 2004 when the stroke sit me down. When I visited the web site, there is a list of deceased members, man a lot of them are gone on so I feel blessed to still be around to watch them bowl since I can't do it anymore myself.

I been reading blogs and comments on the message board so I'm just saying something and maybe reminiscing a little! In my little mind I just don't think I will get back to the person I was prior to the stroke But I am happy with what I got back already if I don't get anymore back. I will not quit working on my recovery and therapy for sure because I know darn well that helps and got me to where I am now!!

WELL nothing else to get into I thought a casino would be a good bet! You never know when it's your time to get lucky and I feel it's my time since the lottery is not paying off! I don't play big I play small and move from machine to another one that pays off often. That's the good thing by being on my scooter I can move in a heart beat.
It works for me and sometimes I will watch other people play a machine until they are very tired and have fed it for a Iong time without winning.

The more I think and feel I am normal the more I find out I am not!!!! My whole left side head to toes does not work normally..... As I have said I am paralyzed totally on left side!!! The VA eye clinic told me I will need eye surgery for cataracts in both eyes, but the left one first because it is the worst. It's a matter of time it has to be done sooner or later. Well, I'm not getting any younger so why wait?? It will need to be done so I opted to start next week. Preparation will start on Monday the 15th thru 17th then the surgery will be 7am on the 18th. My wife wants me to get a second opinion from my other eye doctor so I will call him today.

In less than two months I will have been recovering for 8 months. I'm so glad I never gave up on getting better. It's been a long journey to say the least but knowing one day I would be better I just kept praying to God! Sure enough right from the beginning I have been blessed. IT'S VERY HOT IN TEXAS! We are experiencing record for most days in a row and the number of total days over 100 degrees for the year. Today is 43 days in a row, a new record for temps over 100 degrees in my city. The next record sure to be broken is 63 days over a 100 degrees for the year!

We had a good time all around the Casino floors and came back with more dollars than we left with for a change. I would have never guessed she would play dollar machine when her favorite is the penny machines and all that noise they make would drive me nuts. I am now 17 months post stroke. My rehab starts again for 14 visits, but this time I will be getting in the pool as part of my therapy. I just found out the pool is great for stroke survivors. I had been led to believe the opposite.

It is H O T here in Texas but shoppers are out all over the city in all the stores! I sat in the shade outside a few stores just watching people come and go about their shopping. Some would go in one store, put those bags in the trunk of the car then go in another store!
It's amazing how some can shop for hours. I was in this one area long enough to remember some shoppers who came back to the store to return their items they had purchased earlier! I guess they just shop to be doing something
