you got to be whole when you are in any relationship- sage wisdom

Some of you who know me, I am heavy into uplifting books, inspiring biographies & oprah's Super soul sunday where she gets accomplished leaders, thinkers  which I have realized based on where I am in my own journey find great AHA moments to cliche lines.  Anyway enough of background  recently Oprah had Michelle Obama on her show talking about her "becoming" book great book, if any one wants to read & get inspired by how to be great mom or wife this book is quite inspiring.  One of intere

you don't need to see your end destination to reach there

As we are going through yet another change in our life we moved to our new home & started preparing our old home ready to put on market for rent. I used to get overwhelmed with amount of work it is involved in moving into new home & preparing things for all that is involved. I was admiring hubby's ability to keep calm in chaotic situation, when so many balls up in the air how does he stays calm & not buckle under pressure. he shared with me good technique on how not to get overwhel

wow what a week

I guess I should never say life is usual, nothing exciting or bad. I guess when you got active child in college things do happen, but of-course being older he thinks he has to handle everything himself  &  making us obsolete. yes as a parent you want your kids to be self reliant & making their own decisions. but I feel scared of letting  him go. recently at college while playing basketball he dislocated his dominant hand's thumb it turns out to be ligament tear, right now he is in cast &

It was miracle, I felt gods hands holding me tight on stairs, I did not get scared or anything & did right things to balance myself when he was holding me ti

why it is so hard to let go of control & trust lifes unfolding

Every time I think now I learnt my lesson, but still keep on resisting the life the way it unfolds. I am sure God must be pulling his hair and thinking to himself when will she learn. how many times he has to show me that whatever is happening in my life is for my benefit, so stop resisting & go with flow. its silly sometimes how some small inconvenience in my life will make me upset, though given time & with my nagging family members to make adjustment to my small inconvenience. & i

why do we view change as bad

Its weekend so time to think deep thoughts. I was thinking about how we are all averse of changes in our life specially unplanned  or unexpected changes which shows up  in our life like illness, accidents or job-loss.  how all these changes rattles our boat & we get so unsettled, upset about it, without knowing future, we just hate all unwelcome change. I know I did it when I faced my stroke in my life. I thought my life was ruined & I will never find joy in living again.    I u

when you want something in life whole universe inspires to help you

As most of you I loved reading spiritual books and love oprah's super soul sunday series on her OWN network where she interviewed Author of book Alchemist. I loved his thoughts & believed in them since I have seen becoming true in my own life. His one of the suggestion was any time you want something in life then don't give up on it because of fear of failures, if you want something keep at it & you will see whole universe inspires to help you. His main message in the book is follow your

when you know better, you do better

I heard above line of Maya Angelou from oprah & loved it. post stroke I have tendency to look back at my life & regret mistakes I made in my life, well in my 40 plus years I have made some good & bad choices which created my destiny. So I feel solely responsible for my own life. yes I have done mistakes in my life. that's why when I heard Maya Angelou's line " when you know better, you do better". I feel that line very comforting & forgiving. I feel free of guilt & feel as lo

what's the purpose of suffering in any one's life

going through my own suffering & reading others blogs sometime I wonder what's the purpose of suffering in life. Though after reading lot of books on that subject. I feel going through dark phase in your life does have tendency to wake one up & appreciate light around you. I know & have seen every one is different in handling lean period. It can make you either bitter or better person. I know when you find meaning in your suffering, life becomes so much richer. I know I loved victo

Happy New year everyone. time is flying by so fast. 2018 got over so quickly, My 2018 was year to be grateful for, lot of new & challenging things happening in my life, though with those challenges also came  feeling confident in myself was biggest reward Though lot of times during year felt like giving up, but with not giving up, I see growth in myself. what are you going to learn from your suffering & pain

my favorite thing to do on Sunday is to watch oprah's super soul Sunday. author gilbert of eat, pray & love said something very profound & I usually like to write down in my blog & share with my friends life we all go through pain & suffering. If we find meaning in it & learn from it then its not a waste its hero's journey. I think when pain comes in our life, instead of asking why me better question would be what is this pain is here to teach me. I think when we overcome

what a wonderful visit we had with family

I am such a blessed person, surrounded by so much love & laughter that post stroke life also feels great. My mom used to tell me when I was young that even though I was accidental child I always got best in life, which includes great education & resources to do well. Even though got hand me down clothes & books I did well since I was surrounded by lot of love by family. I am most fortunate in my hubby & his side of family. My life partner was picked by my family. at that age my

We are back home happy & safe, this year we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. I am usually vacation planner at our home, I wanted to go to Greece, but due to covid uncertainties hubby's suggestion was we should go somewhere in USA only.  one of our earlier vacation we took in USA is California with our son who was still baby & was in car seat  & in diapers, we had drove from sanfranscisco to Arizona covering all national parks,17 mile drive in Monterey Bay & had so much fu

We are back from our worldwind vacation

Since hubby's most of the family still back in India, we do go & visit India every two years. traveling with me  is bit scary sometimes, we both have to be extra careful of me not stumble anywhere & fall on uneven terrain, which in India there are plenty when we go visit our home cities & our village  where construction is always going on on roads. & not railings to hold anywhere except hand of my family member.hubby always had me in his death grip lol. This year I made plan in s

We usually go to India every two years to meet our family members and keep tie alive for our kido who is born here, and does not understand he is loved by ton of family members. As he is growing old, he has his own reservations about going to India, he did not want to miss his friends & his sleepovers this vacation, but ofcourse he listens to his dad & agreed to come this time. We all had blast. I love meeting my in-laws & their family. Since

we are back from our short vacation & trying to deal with all changes

we just returned from our week long vacation to India. lot of things are changing so mood at home was somber. government cancelled 500-1000 rupees bill to curb black market. Every one was worried on how to get their money deposited in bank without getting into trouble or paying high taxes on it. In India most of transaction happens using cash only. so mood was somber. once we returned home we changed our cable service provider went from cable service to fios so that added more change on how I ac
