For the last 3 years I've attended a camp for brain injuries. This year the powers to be formatted the camp for us to stay in touch. No doubt it was a logistical head banger and something I certainly couldn't handle. Kudo's to all involved for pulling off the virtual camp.
They had an opening ceremony to explain the Zoom and times. They mailed out a package with a T-shirt which they do every year for campers. Supplies for the activities which you felt you could handle.
Personal Best For Speed & Time
6 years and this device has certainly been a large part of my recovery.
The photo was from 2019 March 5. Wearing ankle weights, compression pants and ab support.
I remember the first time was in a harness and on a treadmill with 3 therapist all working on instructing and guiding my legs on the treadmill. Each session they lowered the harness and I put more weight on my legs.
I did mostly a recumbent bike fo
Over the weekend I had almost like a snake bite on right leg. Didn't feel but noticed 2 red bump on foot, axle level. I suspected a spider had caused this. Didn't feel much at first. Monday it started to itch on right. This morning woke with 2 more bites on the left ankle about the same distance apart and looking like snake fangs pierced the skin. Boy is the left bites unbearable.
Apparently its a chigger or Trombiculidae. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trombiculidae.
I was so thrilled yesterday to be invited out to lunch with co-workers. We went for a drive and finally found a social distance outdoor patio. A small chain called Crabby Joe's. It was neat as you either scanned a code or got a paper menu that you kept.
I was up at 5 am with the excitement of going out with friends. Did my treadmill first thing and then got ready. Was ready for an hour before they arrived. Had time to join my local brain injury Zoom Meeting which I tried on
Last evening I had to go on defense mode. We have these planters and this year I over watered with all the heat. Well more the drainage system I discovered had the drainage hole still with the punched out hole still in it. I think it's too late for the petunia's this year. The rest may come back. Petunia's I doubt.
The little mini shears I find much easier since I did most dead heading by pinching. Petunia's are sticky. These are great and I have to wash them but its a game
Another week down. Slipping treadmill routine. Only 3 days out of 7. I'm getting my step goal in at 4000 but getting that cardiovascular workout that I should get from the treadmill is lacking.
Still notice small achievements everyday.
Hear its suppose to reach 100°F on local radio. The humidity the worse part most say.

First blog post so experimenting.

Garden is pretty weedy. First year using this mulch and it is a lot better. At least we can see what we planted and where.
Been eating a lot of salad lately as i
An Experiment in Camping
Well I did it 3 years and slept in a tent. All I can say is what an ordeal. I'll post photo's on main site. Not really roughing it. Air mattress and power cord port in new tent.
Getting down no problem. Getting into sleeping bag easy the first time as had help. But mother nature thought I was enjoying this tenting. Its a portioned tent. Daughter had zipped everything she could and was resting peacefully. Just getting to a position I could get off
