GOD GRANT ME SERENITY

AZ Leah

Dear fellow stroke survivors and caregivers. My caregiver, my beloved Jerry, passed October 23, 2011 at 8:30 pm. He was without pain and was ready to meet his Maker. I believe God led me to purchase long-term care insurance back in 1997 and they provided for Jerry and I will continue to have it until I get my strength independence back. On Jerry's deathbed, I promised I would work hard; I have a long way to go. I have a lot of friends and caregivers to help me in my continued Jerry. The passing of my best friend, lover, caregiver and soul-mate of 27 years has been devastating. He was determined and brave and felt he would beat the lung cancer diagnosed only 4 months ago. It was not to be. God is in charge and God and now Jerry's spirit will go on to give me the strength, courage and wisdom I need to get back. I want to drive again and have hope and faith. The memorial is tomorrow and after I have grieved a little while longer I hope to start joining chat more often. I have not forsaken StrokeNet through my recent sadness and trials. Love, Leah

Leah, you know you are in my prayers. I have started a thread on the forum calling for prayers for you at this time. May God indeed grant you serenity, peace and courage as you continue your journey alone, without the one you loved so much for so long.

(((hugs))) from Sue.

I understand what you are saying and you have my heart felt condolences from me (Fred) and my wife Marion who feels the same way about me as you do Jerry. I really understand where you are coming from and Jerry isn't lost we know where he is as we remember his home going on Sunday night.

If there is anything we as members here can do please advise us.

Fred and Marion!

LEAH, I AM SO SORRY ABOUT JERRY'S PASSING. GOD KNEW HE HAD SUFFERED ENOUGH AND HE WAS READY FOR HIM TO COME HOME AND BECOME YOUR ANGEL WATCHING OVER YOU FROM ABOVE. YOU WILL TAKE AWHILE TO GRIEVE AND TAKE ALL OF THE TIME YOU NEED. I HAVE YOU IN MY THOUGHTS AND CONTINUED PRAYERS. YOU ARE ONE OF THE STRONGEST WOMEN I KNOW. CONTINUE ON WITH YOUR RECOVERY AS YOU PROMISED JERRY AND HE WILL HELP YOU WITH HIS SPIRIT CHEERING YOU ON.

Oh Leah, my heart breaks for you. We can rejoice for Jerry being over the pain and in the presence of God. But you will miss your soulmate. I pray God renews you each day.

Leah, I am saddened by the news of Jerry's passing. It is so easy to make the statement "that you are a strong woman and everything will be okay," because it is truly not easy. You are so in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing prayers. I know Jerry's spirit is still helping me and God is giving me strength to get through every day. Of course some days are better than others and I am realistic that my healing will take a long time, both emotional and physical. I am still wearing a brace but am weaning myself from it (4 months next week) for the compressed L1 fracture. I have an appt with my primary care next week, am waiting for call-back from neurologist for an appt and hope it will lead to some out-patient PT. A baby step at a time is about all I can do but do it, I will. Thank you again. Love, Leah

LEAH,

I AM KEEPING YOU IN MY PRAYERS. JESUS KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH AND THAT IS WHY HE LEFT US THE COMFORTER (HOLY SPIRIT) TO GET THROUGH THESE TRIALS. MAY THE LORD BRING YOU COMFORT AS YOU REST IN HIS ARMS.

-WILL
