another job offer.....

I kept thinking about the job that I was going to accept. I just did not feel perfectly comfortable with it. My bus ride to work would have been on the bus for 3 hours to and from. that means that my day would be 12 hours long. 8 hours plus lunch and 3 hours of commute. that was too much.

Fortunately, I had another job interview today and this job is only 30 minutes away. The hours are 3:30 to midnight. But, that means that I can still do all of my exercise stuff with William. He will be asleep most of the time that I am gone. I was going to miss all of my gym time. I like going to the gym in the morning.

I was so blessed that i got this call today.

The only bad thing will be that i will not be able to attend caregiver chat on Tues. I will have to chat via other means with my buddies in caregiver chat.

I just did not feel totally comfortable with the other job. I had received the paperwork,...contract..but I put off signing it and submitting. Thank heavens. I did that.

I was talking to my neighbor and told her that William wants a dog. She told me that the Lhasa apso is a great dog. She gave me a book to read. i need to seriously consider getting William a little dog.

Patience is hard to handle. Fortunately, I was fortunate to find a job so quickly. I am really blessed.

trying to stay at home with William 24/7 was really difficult. I just need to be able to get out.

I had asked somebody to be a caregiver for William. I now need to let her know that the hours have changed. It was going to be 6A to 7P. Really long day. Now it will be later 3P to midnight. This actually works out better because her Mom is her back up and she gets off work at 4P.

I do hope that this works out well for her also. I will talk to her after I speak to HR tomorrow,

Ruth, great for you and as you see things have a way of working out for us!!

You may already know we got a little Shih Tzu puppy 2 weeks old for our granddaughter for bringing her grades up and making the Honor Roll so we couldn't go back on our promise to an 8 year old girl!!!

Now the puppy is 10 months old and will be one year on January first. I'm the one at home with her(yea, she wanted a girl dog) all day and I wouldn't take nothing for her company anytime!!! They are small lap dogs I'm told but she don't like me to hold her, my granddaughter does but I put the leash on her and she loves to ride on my scooter!!!!

So William having a puppy may be a good thing but we just got one hand to use real good!!! We put her in puppy training at Petsmart and that helped her to understand Sit, Stay, No, come and Leave It when she shouldn't bother something!!!

She has to be a year old to get command classes so for now I need the leash when she goes outside or she will go where she wants to go!!! But I love the little dog and she is great company for me until school is out and her little master comes home from school!!!!!

Ruth :

congratulations once again, I feel job does lot more than bringing in money, it aso provides lot of other satisfactions in life, that's the reason lot of men die quicker after they retire compared to women who can find things to do aroud house versus men are so used to working outside the house and when that is taken away they feel lost. I was more deressed about my job loss than my stroke deficits till I found feeling of accomplisment in raising our youg son though I know I have to find joy in other things since he will be off to college soon.

Ruth: it was good to chat last night. I am hoping at this point you have spoken to HR and your caregiver and things are moving forward.

Even if you loved housekeeping and cooking, that gets stale quickly. I found myself cleaning the grout on the fireplace bricks with a toothbrush and that was when I realized I was losing my mind. I cleaned out our closets, which needed to be done and we don't have many, but then painted them before I reorganized.

You know yourself and you have had enough time to figure out what you want to do and what is managable in your home.

I couldn't do the puppy or even adult dog, as much as Bruce would have loved it. Just one more responsibility and another living thing that would be depending on me. I still do think of it on occasion, but our Kira is our darling. Cats are just easier and I know she was one of a kind to find: older, spayed, declawed, box-trained; but she took so fast to Bruce, all the equipment and the WC. Loves to ride on his lap and sleeps with him every night. There is just something about a pet. All they ask for is love and it makes such a difference. Let us know what you decide.

And please updates on the job - Debbie
