Party

Well I wrote a blog yesterday, but the site was having glitches, so it got lost. But I hosted a dinner party last night. I was excited as it was my first entertaining attempt in my new place, first attempt, pulling it off doing it all myself. I have to pat myself on the back, I chose well for guests. Two old friends who live alone.

Well they got here early which was great cause I was bored and had everything ready early. So they jumped right in and in no time, dinner was cooked and served and the dishes were washed, not by me, my guests. Everything was neat, clean and tidy by 10 P.M. We had coffee and dessert, and had a huge thunderstorm, which the flashes of lightening were cool to watch while eating at the table in the bay window alcove, thge lights kept flickering, I lit two candles on the table. We lingered so long, the candles are nubs now, they were new unused candles before I lit them. But we all had a great time, good conversation, good wine. So I am happy today, entertaining can be done post stroke!

Pre stroke, I used to love to entertain. Post stroke, it became one of those overwhelming things that just wasn't on my to do list.

But being it was so much fun last night, I'll definitely do it again. But I am tired today, of all the days, my brother phones me at 6:30 this morning. I was planning on a good late sleep in. I'll nap later.

Add my congratulations to the list! Try my trick sometime of just desert and coffee in the evening. Less work and money, but just as much fun.

If sometime you want to intertain your daughter and a few of her friends, have a mother/daughter tea party.

Asha,

I lived alone for 33 years--almost half my life. Living alone, contrary to popular belief, does NOT being being lonely. Hugh difference there.

Hi Pam hiya.gif

So... do we now call you the "Happy Hostpam"? cloud9.gif

So glad that it went well for you. Why not make it a regular thing eh?

Living independent is well "Living independent" french_cig_nomo.gif and it allows you to get to know yourself (not a bad thing).

Talking to yourself is allowed. However, answering yourself is a whole other matter. lol_2.gif

Have fun kid! happydance.gif
