Breaking Habits

This week its been harder to note specific improvement. Rather I seem to have realized that I may have to push beyond habits i've fallen into. I had started , and continue to run back from barn to the house every morning after feeding the horses. Yet I realized that I walk in a very steady and cautious way which has now served me for several months. One evening my wife was calling me to the bathroom to take meds and I realized I use to walk much faster in such circumstance. I increased stride and speed and had no problem! t wasn't like when I push to relearn a muscle use. I t was more like the natural movement was there waiting for me to return to it.

I am making a resolution to day to try to move , in all things, like i used to. If nothing else I think it we redefine where my limits are.

As Cober says; Quarantine while we continue to work in the hoop house every day which also stretches and challenges my balance. Is pretty much in full production in there.

The first of the cucumbers have just arrived and out in the garden egg-plant abounds with sweet peppers coming soon. We are producing so much at the moment that time can't process it all so we have been feeding 5 other house holds. We pakage it up put in on a table in the garage and they come and collect it as we are still maintaining a high level of isolation.

I wish I lived in your neighborhood, your produce looks so wonderful, particularly the tomatoes and onions. When we first came to this house in the late 60s we had a garden and so did the neighbours. We swapped spinach for cabbage or cucumbers for tomatoes. A neighbour grew flat yellow onions that were so sweet we all loved them in salads. Now  I just grow my herbs and neighbors either side don't grow vegetables at all. A pity really as the swaps were fun and we often exchanged seeds or cuttings as well.

wow Kevin :

your hoop house & produce looks amazing. I grew up in city so for me fresh produce comes from grocery store only, even though my grandfather was farmer, I have no farm knowledge.

That hoop garden is of particular interest to me, I have a new unused dog pen 😢 next to my garage. I haven't measured it yet but 3 side have an 8' cyclone fence. The plan is to turn this approximatley 20'x 10' space into a Michigan greenhouse for us. I believe I can use 3/4 PVC pipe and make a removable hoop cover. We will see.

What a BOUNTY!!! Kevin you have a wonderful attitude about life and it can only serve you well. 🙂 Attitude will take you much further than all those medical expectations ever could. It's a good feeling to be a part of your recovery process.

Yep bike every day should help build stamina that will be needed for a big project. Sloth is nice but also addictive.

What is Sloth? I've never heard of that.

Possibly comes from the south American animal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sloth

But is also one of the seven deadly sins (pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth, and wrath.) I'm a practitioner of most of these from time to time as are most humans.

I'm guessing the animal was named from the sin, given it spends so much time not moving.

Oh yeah the 7 deadly sins. Haven't thought about or looked at them for quite awhile. Won't hurt but I know I will be checking them off after your comment. Ha -ha  ✌️ Just checked and got em covered but will have to get clarification on wrath. 😅
