About Bob

My husband is saying full sentences and phrases now where in the beginning he couldn't speak a word.

Only now he has colon cancer. :Tantrum: He just recovered from surgery where he had an abdominal aneurism in the aorta. It made the artery 4 times the normal size. The only reason we found it was because when they found the colon cancer they wanted a ct scan of the torso.

He says he won't take chemo if need be after the surgery. We'll see. We go see the surgeon tomorrow to find out when the next surgery is.

The last 4 years since his stroke have been an extreme ride of ups, downs, emotions, trials, tribulations, victories and failures, well you know. You name it. God.........I wonder if and when it's gonna stop.

I've never met or known anyone as unbelievably strong as my husband.

Cindy,

Glad to hear Bob is talking but sorry to hear about the cancer. It's a blessing they found it though. You know, life is like a big Merry-go-round as it's chock full of ups and downs. Remember to smile and keep your spirits high, You and Bob will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Cindy, glad to hear Bob has recovered his speech but sorry to hear he is now battling cancer. When you've had a stroke the ups and downs of life seem to hit you harder. Ray too has had some problems the past couple of years that seem to have taken a lot of extra time in recovery. I guess as a caregiver you just have to allow for that. It is the same old taking a day-at-a-time as stroke recovery.

Build some good times into your life if you can so that there are happy shining moments among the daily struggle of life.

(((hugs))) from Sue.

Sorry about the diagnosis, hope all goes well. A ray of hope - I had colon cancer but they just removed the offending piece, patched me up and 3 years on as far as I know I am cancer free; you can beat colon cancer. In case it bothers him, I never needed a colostomy bag, he may well not.

Wow, what a time you and Bob have had! I'm glad you've got those ups, tribulations and victories to go along with the downs, trials and failures. We humans are remarkable resistant aren't we. Keep the faith.
