hello from my part of the world...i have more stem cell news...i discovered thru a friend of mine a new treatment in tijuana, mexico where they use a proliferation of your own stem cells as the therapy...we spoke to a stroke survivor's caretaker who had been treated there...it's a very small clinic which was a welcome experience after dealing with too many big new york city hospitals...this program is run by dr gustavo andrade...on the first day he took blood, a verbal history and performed a physical examination on us then injected neuprogen to stimulate white blood cells and stem cells in bone marrow...other iv solutions are given for various reasons...on the third day the bone marrow extraction from the tibia occurred...not fun but not painful...the extract containing the stem cells was reintroduced thru an arm iv as well as thru one injection into the lumbar cerebrospinal fluid...that's pretty much the treatment...results could take up to 3 months...patients stay at a nearby hotel and transportation is provided from the airport in san diego in flying in and then from the hotel to thje clinic whenever necessary...treatment costs are $5,200 - $6,000 plus food, hotel expenses...i can't report any improvements since returning home on february 16...hopefully they will come in conjunction with all the other therapies i'm doing...i'll blog some more important information on this topic soon...best to all...richxxx
