overdue update

hi all...i've been too busy doing the gut rehab on my house at the jersey shore...the first contractor turned out to be incompetent and much more...had to take a little trip to court to resolve the issues...the good news is that i won the case 100%...he didn't count on little old stroke survivor me taking him on in court...hey we all make miscalculations!...the other good news is that i found the contractor of my dreams right on my own block...a neighbor...the project is shaping up better than i could have imagined...my move date is november...so looking forward to living near the ocean with the river at the other end of the block!...yes i'm a water sign!...the time has come to say goodbye to my wonderful nyc!

the other good news is that my attorney referred me to a colleague that actually couldn't help me with the case i was presenting with however thru a rather lengthy discussion with her i spilled my healing journey with foreign therapies and how dissatisfied i was mainly with the american companies which facilitated the programs...this got her attention in a big way...really long long story short, she's intensely interested in investigating a couple of the people i've blogged about to determine if there are any possible ways to bring litigation against people who are deemed unethical in their business practices...in her words, certain people need a strong message sent to them that just because they may be doing business offshore for the most part they are still accountable under many circumstances...she's doing part of the work pro bono and the rest is money gladly spent on my behalf not only for my own peace of mind but to share her research with other survivors on this site, among other venues, before they spend tens of thousands of dollars...it needs to be determined what recourse is available to people who feel they have been served poorly just as in any other case where so much money is involved...so enough about that for now...but updates will surely be forthcoming!

my experience with john of god in brasil was too amazing for words...even for a verbose urbanite like myself...my little index finger could go on and on with this topic however i'll stick to some bottom line statements...this is a therapy where one must choose to believe what's going on there...i did not have a huge problem in this area as i had read about john many times before going...no one can fool people for 44 years with the kind of healings that are generated...it's truly miraculous what transpires there...btw he takes no credit, he clearly acknowledges god as the sole source of all the miracles...

the therapy/healing is all on a spiritual plane with adjuncts for some that involve herbs and a form of light therapy...i spent two weeks there back in late june...upon my return i stopped using my cane walking outside...it's easy to forget the joy this brought me as i now have a free functional hand available when i'm outside of my home...my walking is far from functional however the improvement is indisputable...i am now able to walk outside...and that's crowded fast paced nyc outside folks...without the cane and without falling or losing my balance...the more i walk without the cane the more my body will adapt to not using it promoting a more 'normal' gait...it's always worth noting that this occurred concurrently with participating in bob guns' program along with my bioness L300 stim device...john will be in ny at the omega institute at the end of the month...i'm counting the days...i've found a spiritual therapy that i know with certainty will help me...i couldn't give a timeframe...a lot is involved with this...looking within to change emotional/mental patterns may be a prerequisite to the physical healing...whatever, i'm counting myself fully in...in the same breath, my trainer/therapist is definately still on the scene 5x's/week...repetitive movements that bore the *beep* out of my urinary bladder have been proven to render prodigious results...so 2 1/2 years after my stroke, i've found a path to follow that feels organically correct to the deepest part of my gut...acupuncture is still a part of it all...my new doc in chinatown is very skilled and experienced with post stroke...i still have faith in stem cells but only the procedures that introduce the cells directly into the infarct area...ok i'm thankful that i've rendered a bit of an update...i'll post more john stuff after october 2 when the omega program ends...to all my best, richxxx

Rich:

thanks for the update. I was wondering about you too. Moving NJ near ocean sounds like my dream which came true for you. Though eventually I am going to convince hubby to buy house or condo from where you can feel the ocean breeze & see the ocean. where in NJ you bought this house?

Welcome Home. Sounds good to be getting some good clean fresh ocean air. Yes the more you walk without your cane the better you will do. My gait is not perfect, I hve a slight limp, ( I think sometimes people think I may have had one too many at lunch....LOL I jut smile and say Hi.. I hear walking in sand in bare feet is great therapy... you may need to wait until next Spring or summer...

I sometimes wonder (after) if I am going to be in a crowded or fast moving crowd.. I should have taken my cane.. not so much for me.. but for a visual clue for others.. that I do not move so quickly...

Glad you found someone to work on your house..... I bet you are really excieted to move in...

cheers and hugs, bonnie
