Mountains and Brickwalls

Aussie Ken

All i seam to be doing these days is climbing more mountains and hitting brickwalls, my progress seams to have stalled and some areas gone backwards. i'm still enjoying doing my hydrotherapy and every two weeks i visit the physio and do a session on the treadmill for 35-40 mins little assistance.

Footdrop is my main problem still and recently heard of a Canadian system called Footlift AFO but i doubt if it would be available hear in Australia and if it would be suitable for me.

I would try anything to get moble again as i hate being so restricted and would do anything to get my independance back.

Other then that life goes on, it's allowed me time to trace my family tree and potter around on the computer.

cheers Ken

Ken, I was thinking of you today when someone was talking to me about my old Penrith days. I remember winter frosts and fogs and ground like stone. Do you think the cold weather may be affecting your muscles and making it more difficult for you to walk?

Roll on spring eh?

Yes Sue, since the cold weather has started my affected right leg is like ice, it doesn't matter how much i wrap it it's always the same, i put it down to circulation problems as once i get in the hydro pool it warms up and stays warm for ages. i might have to get it wired (Haha) summer time no worries

Ken -

Let's face it - the day we had a stroke - well it has changed our lives in a profound way where we will never be the same, but life goes on, no matter how many setbacks we experience

Good luck,

June, survivor, from CT

:o Society is aiming high to find a cure for us, but as cures take years to be found, we do not have the time to wait, so we must carry on, making the best out of a bad situation

P.S. WHEN HANDED A LEMON JUST MAKE LEMONADE! AND GET ON WITH IT
