My chilfrens' dad has been gone for over 10 years, and his presence is still felt as his spirit lives on in his kids -

death can be awful, but letting someone go, allows them to be rid of pain and suffering;

It must be painful to loose a spouse, after so many years -

I am remarried experiencing 26 years together. How I would handle loss of spouse is beyond comprehension, and my kudos goes out to those who handle it so gracefully

hey Naomi:

great blog. I agree 100% with you, we never know strength that lies within us to get us through tough time life sometimes hands us. nowadays I feel like Hero. not a bad thing to learn about yourself from my stroke. you should check out Mariah carey's Hero song.

I know first hand what you are saying and have lost my mom and a wife. Another reason I celebrate life so well cause being a survivor means so much to so many especially the kids and grands.

My dad's passing wasn't felt like mom's was. She raised me alone cause he died when I was 14. Remembering is all I got left these day to cope with life as I know it being a stroke survivor myself.

I'm sure you had many joyous days and years together and it is good to be able to reflect back on the good time the two of you had together especially when being in the military can separate you so much and especially during years of combat in foreign countries or shores.
