Visit to Physiatrist and squelching rumors

On Tuesday, 9-22, I had an appointment with my Physiatrist. Dr. Munin was following up on my botox injections. He was quite pleased with the progress I have made.

My next injections will be 11-14. I will not receive therapy after the next injections as I have been taught what to do at home by my PT and OT.

Now....squelching rumors......On 9-24-09 I retired/resigned from my volunteer duties at Stroke Network. I was NOT fired as I have heard. It was a decision I made on my own being of sound mind (what's left of it after stroke :silly: ) during an administrative difference of opinion. Details of my retirement/resignation cannot and will not be discussed; it was a choice that I made.

Donna, lots of (((hugs))) for all that you have done for me in your time as a volunteer with Strokenet. I've stayed a humble chat host and enjoyed my time but I know one day I too will go off to do other things. So be happy in your retirement.

Congratulations on the progress you have made with your PT etc. It takes a big effort I know that from Ray doing that two years ago. It is a boost to get yourself going again and does improve life for a while, much longer if you continue to exercise regularly.

Keep on blogging, how else will I keep up with your adventures?

Sue.

Donna, I can't thank you enough for all that you, too, have done for me since joining SN. Your help, guidance and nurturing has been immeasureable.

Please keep blogging and providing feedback. For many, you have become the face of SN.

Hey, how about the football game later today between the Bengals and Steelers???? With Cincy's win (thank goodness) last week, the city is hoping for another winning game. Both of my daughters will be at the game and the younger one will be tail gating, too.

I never heard of any rumors, just happen to sit down at my computer and there was the staff announcement that you retired. I knew members can't post or comment on staff announcements so I started another post where other members could wish you well as they did me when I retired from being the Welcome Committee Host where you and I worked side by side with the new members coming to Stroke Net.

I saw others talking about OT and PT but again I had no idea cause you know I had appointments almost daily myself and didn't post much.

Donna,

I am sorry to see you leave the staff here, but I hope you will continue to keep us informed of your progress in therapy. I do keep up with you on Facebook, but it isn't the same- not quite as personal somehow.

DONNA, I CAN NEVER EXPRESS MY HEARTFELT GRATITUDE IN ALL THE TIMES YOU WERE THERE FOR ME WHEN I NEEDED HELP ON SOMETHING. I PRAY YOUR TREATMENTS CONTINUE TO GIVE YOU GREAT RESULTS AS THE ONES RECEIVED ALREADY HAVE. YOU HAVE HELPED AND CARED FOR SO MANY PEOPLE HERE ON SITE. I GUESS WE ALL NEED TO MOVE ON WHEN ITS OUR TIME. YOU WERE AND ARE A VALUABLE ASSET TO THIS SITE AND WILL BE MISSED. BUT I HAVE MADE A "TRUE" FRIEND FOR LIFE. NOW DON'T GET LAZY WITH ALL THIS FREE TIME ON YOUR HANDS. KEEP CRACKING ON YOUR RECENT IMPROVEMENTS. KEEP US POSTED ON HOW YOUR LIFE IS GOING.

Dear Donna,

Thank you for all that you did on SN. You really did alot. But, yes I can understand going on. Like Fred, I never heard any rumors. I would like to thank you for all that you have done.

I so enjoy your blogs and comments.

You are my inspiration. I know that William can keep working and getting better day by day. Just keep working.

Enjoy your daughter and keep up the good work with OT and PT exercises.

Thanks for sharing all of your OT and PT experiences with us.

Donna,

You have meant so much to me. You've always prayed for and encouraged Rachel and I. It was a blessing to have you here volunteering so much of your time. I know that you will continue to do well with your therapy:pt, ot, and Botox. I love you. Keep in touch.

I hope you continue to be part of strokenet without administrative duties. Also hope the botox works for it. I had one injection (2nd one next week) and it has helped my shoulder. i can't see any difference in my leg but hope in time my limp gaint will get better. one day @ a time, Leah
