My name is Bob Dittman. I stroked in March of 2006 and lost the movement in my right arm and leg.
I was a Department Manager in a large retail store. We had just come off our quarterly inventory where the work hours are long and the sleep minimal for most of a week. We had just finished up our recounts, inventory was over, and though I was tired, I decided to spend some time in the mountains to relax for a couple of days.
The drive up as usual was beautiful, and I got my hotel room and settled in for the night. The next day, I got up, had a little breakfast at the hotel, and then left to do some shopping. I pulled my car into the parking lot of the shopping center, got out of the car, took a few steps, and realized something was wrong. The whole right side of my body was numb. I started to stumble and was heading to the pavement, when it stopped. I stood up straight, shook my head, and went back to the car to sit down.
