No two stokes are exactly alike. Even with the worst type of stroke, like I had, you can survive and have a full life.

jennifer,

i read your story and found it very fullfilling. see my dad had a hemorrhagic stroke on jan.16,2010. he is 55 yrs old. he too is on a respiratorand he has a feeding tube. it has been 6 weeks now and my mom and me and my 2 sisters have been by his bedside everyday and we pray for him. he comes in and out of it but he never fully awakes. i read that you wereon a respirator and they were able to take you off of it. i would like to know how long it took for them to wean you off the respirator because its taking awhile for dad buthe is tolerating it okay. i guess i find myself looking for people who have had strokes like dad so i can read their stories because dad cannot tell me how hes feeling and i always wonder how he is feeling. my dad is my bestfriend i always talked to him everyday atleast twice and sometimes more and its been 6 weeks without hearing his voice. please anything that you tell mewould greatly help me. thank you so much for sharing your story with everyoneand i will pray for you and your family whenever i pray for my dad. god bless you and your family.
