Wesley Cook
My husband, Wesley, Cook, is a retired law enforcement officer with the State of North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission where he was a game warden for 25 years. In his early career he was shot on the job but his stroke has been the most traumatic event in our lives, even more so than getting shot. There is stroke history in his family but we never thought this would happen to him. He was on medication to lower his blood pressure and was, otherwise, very active and healthy.
On March 7, 2001, at age 58, he had a bilateral pontine stroke. In January and February he had episodes of what we now know were TIA
