  3. I'm beginning to get the time sorted out. I can't be on the chat at your time because My free wi-fi doesn't start that early but I'm getting through quite often at my lunchtime session and chatting with Asha. Data is too expensive for me to buy more than I need and I find that chat absolutely eats so have to wait till the local public library opens and wi-fi is switched on. It used to be a 24 hour service but youngsters left such a mess outside the library and were also responsible for vandalism of the property so the Council cut it. Deigh
  4. Indeed we will. I get tied up with doing routine things and suddenly realise that the chat room is open, or just closed! All will come together sometime! It must be mid morning for you now, here it is late afternoon the day before! Deigh
  5. I nearly got to meet you on the chat program the other day. My new computer is handling it OK but my brain is not. I am sixteen hours ahead of you and working out when to join in is a major problem for me. What I need is a program that will make a flashing signal at the top of my screen when the chat room is alive! Deigh
  6. No, it was my fault that I missed your message, I don't look regularly on the site busy doing other things and suddenly the other day saw that I'd missed you. I try to work out the best times but get confused quickly.!!!! just at this time of day or even a couple of hours earlier would be good for me. Regards Deigh
  7. Sorry Tracy I missed your latest message, read it too late to realise that I could have joined in. Hope that next time you are on at that time I will know in time to switch over and chat. Deigh
  8. Very nice, but data is expensive in NZ and there is no way I could afford the luxury of fibre. Using free wi-fi is an essential part of my computer use plan! Deigh
  9. Problems! Have managed to get through to chat with my new computer but find it eats data and data is expensive here in NZ. I do most of my internet work when using free wi-fi from the local public library and that stops overnight and Sundays, so unless someone starts chatting in the early hours I will have to give it a miss. 10. An amusing little story for you Heather. in 1976, my mother, a 70 year old, living on her own back in the UK was reported as being extremely frail and would not last six months. Over a series of phone calls my wife and I I invited her to move to New Zealand where we could care for her. We couldn't help with the fare but would support her afterwards. At this age she earned her fare by selling all her furniture and moved out .She came by air in a wheelchair by Air New Zealand. They looked after her well but she got fed up with leaving the aircraft when it made its refuelling stops (three days journey then!) Eventually they arrived in Auckland but she caused a bit of flurry by refusing to leave the aircraft despite the hostesses trying to convince her she had arrived. No she said "My watch says it is the seventh and I'm not due till the eighth!". They had to call the captain in to explain it! She loved it here and the three grandsons enjoyed their Granny Gosport..........and she lived for another twentyfive years. Deigh
  11. Bit of a mess up this morning. according to my computer the EST time quoted should be 0700 to 0800 my Friday morning. I got up early to be on at 07.30. Couldn't find anything happening so gave up and put a message out for Keli. Then at 0800 I had a notation that things were active and I went back and had another go. This time I got through but was handicapped by a new keyboard and found contact tricky. Will do better next time but will have to overcome the time difference. I am a day earlier than you are, which adds to the confusion. If I punch the schedule box a chart comes up showing times. there are also small black boxes shown with a different time on them. Is this my local time? Which room is the most likely to be active? Deigh
  12. Hi there Tracy, I got up early to try the chat site but it looks as though everyone has gone to bed!

Hmmm I'm not sure who hosted today Deigh but I can see what may have happened. Have you been able to get in the chat room at all yet? I k ow you were having problems I'm talking with Steve and hopefully we will come up with a solution. I'm excited that you tried this morning 🙂! We will figure it out.

  13. I see we are both in New Zealand. I live in Waiuku, South Auckland. Where are you?

  14. I havn't had an opportunity to try that one out but I don't think it would work with me. There are times when I've been upset and tried to make myself understood and nothing comes out at all. At the moment I am trying to whistle more to improve my voice. Trouble is remembering to do it! It is a good trick to do because there is nothing wrong with a person walking around whistling, but a person walking around talking to themselves rather suspect! Deigh
  15. If you can get some extra fun out of a useful product then go ahead and enjoy. Don't think it would do anything for me! Deigh
  16. Tracy, I did a lot of searching to find a picture with someone using it, it is a bit unusual because the handle is in your front when you sit down. ! I found it a little clumsy for walking with but definitely worth the trouble. Deigh
  17. This is a rather complicated link to follow, I hope it works, My wife bought me one a while ago, it is a bit clumsy to walk with but provides a very safe emergency seat. 18. Sue, About fifteen years ago my wife and I had a series of financial disasters which resulted in a loss of our house and business. All we had left was our campervan, a twenty year old 6 metre Japanese bus which I had converted into a mobile home. We lived in it totally for six years and it was the best time of our lives. We would make trips to the trout fishing centre of the NZ and I would spend as much time as I could in a rubber ducky trying to catch fish. Then we would return to Auckland, park on our son's driveway and spend a while doing repairs and saving up enough to fill the tank.....then away again.... Nowadays I dream regularly of winning some cash on lotto and buying a camper again! I think I have my stroke problems under control enough to handle the plan again as long as I take it very easily. 19. I don't know whether or not to tell you this but If the situation was reversed I'd have liked you to tell me! Five years ago, before the stroke hit me I found a lump in my cheek, (I presume this is similar to your experience). My Doctor looked at spots on my chest and decided that one did not look good. In a minor operation he took it out, sending the bits away for examination. This showed that there were some problems there and I was sent for a deeper dig in hospital. They were happy that this cleared the problem but my lump did not decrease and I was sent for major scans. Eventually the problem was pinpointed to my spleen and a decision to remove it was made. The operation was a success and I was cleared of the cancer threat. I was recovering nicely when after three months the stroke hit and I believe it was because the hospital doctor took me off blood thinning tablets and failed to put me back on them when the op was over. The loss of a spleen has never been a major problem except that I have to take care to avoid infections. Deigh
  20. I practice my speaking as much as I can but avoid the phone if possible. Most adults understand me but I have some problem with youngsters. I do agree though that I'd rather resort to texting than talking over the phone especially if I have something tricky to talk about. Deigh
