  1. Thank you both for trying. It's not an easy thing to take over.
  2. Kelli it is so hard to take over someone else's role. It's hard when they are still around to ask how did you do this, and even harder when they aren't available to ask 🙂 We thank you and Missy for doing your best to keep the site running as Steve would have wanted. (((HUGS)))
  3. Hi Asha, Sorry you couldn't find it but not very surprised its a new publication here in Australia so probably hasn't made it across to you yet. I only found out about it from a local radio interview with the author. It's not in our libraries yet either. I bought it as an ebook from a local ebook distributor. I think this is the US Amazon link https://www.amazon.com/Dreaming-Path-Indigenous-Thinking-Change-ebook/dp/B09F696S1H
  4. Hi Asha, I've just started reading The Dreaming Path by Paul Callaghan. As someone who is open to alternative ways of looking at spirituality and living life it may be of interest to you. Ive no idea if it's available in the US yet. Paul is a first nations man and he's written the book in conjunction with his Elders to help explain their life philosophy to others. It's written as story, story is how knowledge is transferred from generation to generation by our first peoples. I guess similar to the hindu bhagvad geeta, but would be interested to hear your thoughts on it. Heather
  5. Yes very true Asha, if it's raining on your picnic it is hard not to feel that that is bad, but the veg grower next to the park needs that rain for his produce and you want his veg to grow so you can eat them later. So it's pointless feeling that the rain is "bad". Just remember that singing in the rain can be fun if that's how you approach it, and so long as you have warm dry clothes for afterward you can just enjoy the rain. Although the people north of me might find that a bit hard right now as the floods are getting very big. The reality of life is that there is only really right now, this moment, so you need to feel the joy of being here right now.
  6. I hope everyone's OK in USA at the moment. It only seems to be us ANZ folk and Mark on the forums at the moment 🙂
  7. Deigh best bet with this sort of problem is send Kelli a message. But the new members thing depends very much on internet search engines bringing up the site when someone searches.
  8. I agree with you about mingling. I understand why the government wants us to forget about it and "go back to normal" but I think I'm not quite ready for that yet either. for the moment I'm still wearing the mask especially in places like shops. Do what's right for you and ignore those who think we are crazy. I hope you don’t get washed out to sea. Good luck with getting drains sorted out. Banjo this is Australia during climate change, Summer doesn’t end until April.
  9. absolutely got the acrylic bases, they really are non slip. I had my doubts when I ordered them, but they work really well.

    COVID

yep this too shall pass. I no longer expect human kind to learn from history, but I can try to buck the trend myself. Fingers crossed that the situation in Ukraine can be resolved, with minimal suffering.

    COVID

Absolutely, I refuse to let this thing turn me into a hermit. I wear my mask, wash my hands, and accept that I can't control this. I get strange looks when I won't get into a lift that already has 2 people in it, the lifts in my apartment building are quite small and lots of people don't bother with their masks any more.

    COVID

Deigh it is certainly interesting to watch peoples mind set change as the authorities give up on trying to contain it. They are still getting us to check in everywhere, but I really don't understand why as they have given up on contact tracing and letting people know where the cases are. So we just have to assume it's everywhere we go. I live in dread of picking it up and passing it on to my parents. I know we've all had our 3 shots but that doesn't mean we won't get it and Mum's existing lung condition and age means she is susceptible to severe disease even with vaccination.

    COVID

Crazy isn't it. I have no idea where it came from but I appear to have caught a cold (although it could just be worse than usual hayfever) RAT test came back negative. But as someone who snuffles through life these days Covid being everywhere sucks. So many cross looks when I sneeze or blow my nose in public. I am a modern leper

    COVID

Thanks Mark, So good to hear a first hand account. So far I'm clear but reality is most of us will get it eventually. I've heard don't push too hard too soon as that seems to be a trigger for long covid, but then no one really knows yet, and how that will translate to those of us who already have to manage brain fatigue from other sources is a very complex question that I doubt anyone is looking at seriously yet. Fingers crossed you continue to improve and just think how much worse it could have been if you hadn't had your shots. -Heather
  15. yep Dad is great but he's not young any more so I try not to ask him to do things that need bending, reaching etc. And yes some things get lost in translation, especially with those closest to us, so getting a tradie in makes for a less complicated life.
  16. the nice thing about the drawers fitted inside the cupboards that I did is that they are fitted by a handyman/DIY person, no actual trade needed. Although I did get it done by someone else to save Dad's knees and sanity.
