  1. So my good old rocker recliner is not quite doing the job anymore. Being tall, I bought the XL. It's been great, and it's green. These days I struggle to get out of the chair easily. I have to slide my bum to the front of the chair, and rock to get the momentum going to stand up. So my OT took my the the local guy who has lift chairs on display. So, is everyone on the planet a midget??? They were all way too small for me. And there's no way my little dog Riley would fit on the chair with me. Thankfully I'm going to Perth on Saturday, and can go to a Daily Living shop to look at a larger chair. Why is nothing easy? 💚👑
  2. So I was going to the local nail place, and getting them to cut my toe nails. My bad foot spasms when touched in certain places and not long ago the gorgeous lady accidentally cut my toe! Totally not her fault. Was infected so I had antibiotics which didn't help. Ended up with an antibiotic ointment which seemed to do the trick. My doctor wanted me to see a podiatrist regularly mainly because I'm diabetic. Anyway the podiatrist said I can have my toe nails cut by him instead of the nail place. Ok, so I've now been three times. Friday, my foot spasms and he cuts my toe!! Doesn't matter how we try to improve daily living: I. Cannot. Win. 💚👑
  3. That's awesome Mark! Will make reading that bit easier! 💚👑
  4. Sometimes I really don't want to come here to talk about my issues. Makes them very real. I have a new one. On Monday when we went shopping I decided to use Dougie, my electric wheelchair. I don't normally, but as the list of stuff we needed to get done kept growing, I decided it was for the best. Anyway we are making our way around aldi, and I leaned down to grab some bread, sat up and turned my head the other way to put it in the trolley. My head went all weird, my eyes did this roll around type thing and I kind of collapsed into my wheelchair. Thank goodness for Dougie!! I went 'woah....' and just sat there for a few minutes. Wayne kept asking if I was ok, but to be honest, I really didn't know. We finished the shopping and came home. I sat down instead of helping to unpack as I still felt weird. The next morning, Tuesday, I decided to make a doctor's appointment for whenever, and I could not believe it, got one the same day. Still don't feel great, but go to the doctor's which is literally around the corner. He said my ears (using my own words here) are on different wavelengths. I'm having lots of trouble equalising my ears, if that's how you say it. Sudden head movements confuse my ears, so they react in a way to make me dizzy etc. I went to church yesterday morning, Wednesday, and felt like crap. Came home and did not much. Didn't feel 'right' until last night. Today I feel fine. Does this happen to anyone else? 💚👑
  5. Hi Deigh! I'm pretty sure it's at a real bizzare time for me, which is unfortunate 💚👑
  6. I haven't read any Grisham for a while. I'm thinking he has a new one out though? 💚👑
  7. Scientists also used to encourage the use of mercury as a laxative. But on the rise of the average age, I'm inclined to believe it!! 💚👑
  8. I'm not sure how I feel about grandkids. Not that there's any forthcoming! I know they are little for such a short time, but I won't be able to change nappies, bathe them, carry them ... makes me sad. 💚👑
  9. I didn't know that Heather. Glad you were eventually able to get it for your mum. Guessing it's not on PBS? 💚👑
  10. You like James Patterson, Mark? I really like British police procedural books. Did James Patterson write Along Came a Spider? Morgan freeman was in the movie? 💚👑
  11. My daughter is learning to crochet, Sue! She's really enjoying it! Gone are the days of being taught, she's watching you tube videos. My mum would love to teach her, but her arthritis is stopping that. So would Wayne's aunty, but she's in Perth. Carrah is asking them both for advice, so that's lovely. 💚👑

    COVID

We've all had covid. It was awful. I'm not well at the moment, but with nothing. Headaches, tiredness and occasional sniff. Tested for covid but negative. 💚👑
  13. We'd come in the car. Or I could fly and meet you at the airport. One time Sue, take the prospector from perth to kal or reverse. It's a good trip and a good way to see some of the wheatbelt. The train goes past my grandparents old farm 💚👑
  14. Cannabis isn't legal here, but online you can get 'herbal' tablets. Don't know where from, a friend told me. Legit!! 💚👑
  15. My current book is The Body in the Mist. It's part of a series about an english police officer. Really enjoying it 💚👑
  16. It's amazing how reading a book has changed! I have mine sorted now, not satisfactorily, but at least I can find out what happens next! I love British police novels! 💚👑
  17. Might be able to catch up with you Sue! We are 5 hours north of Perth. Pretty close for WA! It's definitely nice to spend special days with those we love. 💚👑
  18. Being one handed these days, I read on my phone. I found an awesome app where for $13.99 a month, I can read as many books as I like. Some months are slow, one or two books. One month I read 16 books! Obviously an avid reader, I love it. Been having technical issues the past few days and I'm so frustrated! Not like I can pick up a book and read until it's fixed! First world problem I know, but yet another thing not understood by the real world. 💚👑
  19. Kal certainly is in the middle of nowhere! And yes, the heat is constant. So glad you were able to visit and enjoyed your time with family. 💚👑
  20. Tracey! That's so exciting for you! So very glad you aren't on diabetes medication! Hailey must be thrilled for you! 💚👑
  21. My daughter is 21 next week! She'll be over east for her birthday so we had lunch with her grandparents over the weekend.
  22. I'm not sure if I get run down more, but it definitely takes me a lot longer to recover. From anything really. Busy day yesterday, so today I was in bed until 12.30pm. 💚👑
