That is awesome news Kelli! Good thing you picked up! -
What a stunning sunrise. The variation in temperatures in a day is mind boggling, I can't imagine!

Happy New Year Kev! Well, 2020 wasn't all bad - look at how much you were able to achieve and how much better you can do things now!

Happy New year & glad to be still here after suffering another stroke

Asha, I am so grateful that your son insisted you go to the hospital. And grateful that you didn't have any further deficits! -
After all you are going through, I really hope the surgery is successful. As with stroke, recovery is slower than you would like. We are all there for you - be sure to reach out if you need a virtual hug or a shoulder to cry or whine on! I hope that wearing the mouth guard will help!

One of the most difficult things to do it to listen to my body. I start doing something, want to continue, and then overdo it. I am slowly learning ( after 2 years) that it is okay to do things in small steps, to stop when I am tired, and it's really important to sleep as needed. After all, the brain needs rest too! And it's a great idea to ditch the alarm clock! I am so glad it hasn't happened since. Sue

Oh gosh, what a scare! I get those symptoms sometimes when I am overtired, and it scares the heck out of me. Sending hugs to you.

That's the challenge, isn't it? Knowing how far to push and when to pull back. Kev, your determination is really inspiring to me and I find myself trying new ways to keep improving. Thanks for taking the time to write this.

I have to add, I had stroke symptoms 2 months prior to the actual stroke. Numbness and tingling in my left arm and hand. I went to the ER, and they didn`t pick up on it, or do a CT scan at that time.

You are loved Kelli! We all do the best we can.

It's the Butterfly Effect, one magical moment at the right place and right time can change everything. It was August 29, 2018. I was home alone. At 11 am, I woke up feeling really tired. I was about to roll over and go back to sleep, but then decided not to. I have fibromyalgia, and fatigue and lack of energy are a big part of it. Although I didn't really understand it at the time, this fatigue was different. I also had a weird headache in my sinus area beside my nose on the right side of my face. My left hand was completely dead to all feeling, something I didn't understand unti

Deb looks so cozy!

That must have been such a fantastic feeling, to realize what a complex maneuver you managed Kev! I am glad you are blogging, so you can see how much you have progressed. And what a great tomato harvest! Yum!

The neurologist gave me a referral to the rehab centre. And I am happy to report that I am now on the waitlist. I will start at the beginning again, being assessed and then working with therapists to get me back out there!

They are absolutely beautiful! And how nice to be able to contribute. I am a card maker too, and I can see the time and effort put into these!

Kelli, thanks for posting this! I suffer from SAD and have for decades. I purchased a mood light, and ensure that I have it on every day once the darker days hit. It has made a world of difference for me and has made autumn and winter manageable. I am happy to say that my health plan covered the cost of it, which was a big help too!

Here I am! SueC from Vancouver Canada. I am on the live stroke survivor chat most days. As I am quite antisocial, Covid has not affected me as much as others. My husband does all the shopping, safer not to have both of us out there in the shops! Thank you GreenQueen for checking on everyone. And thank you for all your thoughtful comments. I don't think I would be anywhere near where I am in healing, had it not been for this group!

What a beautiful bounty from the garden! And it's so great to hear how much your hard work is paying off Kev! Keep at it, you are an inspiration to all of us.

Yes please! I would love to see Carrah's work!! I have never used gouache myself.

Oh Tracy, you brought tears to my eyes. I am blessed to have met you. And all of you on this site, what a gift! As far as art goes, for me, it's the fun of putting colour to paper, and to see what happens. If the result isn't what I wanted, no worries, I have learned something. Gotta keep those little cells busy!!!

I am happy to report that my neurologist replied at 7:10am!!! He wants to see me in person for an assessment, and said he will likely be able to clear me to drive. So, there will hopefully be another update on September 9th.
