About Me

My husband had a minor stroke on 11/6/2018.  His first symptom was numbness in his fingers (3 fingers on his right hand).  Since then we have learned the other ways he was affected:  inability to focus, short term memory problems, logical thinking (he was a very logical individual), difficulties reading, anxiety and depression.  I believe that his blood clots were on the left side of his brain.  Otherwise, he is very functional.  He was able to ski afterwards.  He said that he couldn't "think" about how he was skiing but his muscle memory seemed to kick in.  We are both retired so fortunately he didn't have to deal with not being able to do his job.  I don't have to take "care" of him except for being understanding, patient and supportive.  Sometimes that is tough enough.  He was prone to depression before but now the anxiety and deep depressions are worse.
