Putting my foot down

What good ideas! If you're serious about this, realize that you're probably not going to get anything without a law enforcement escort, and in the meantime, he can destroy or get rid of anything that he feels may be precious to you, or that you may want. And there's nothing you can do about it. So, plan to take everything you need that's yours. Especially plan to take your vehicle, if you can. If you can't drive it to wherever you're going, stash it out of sight at a friend's, or at one of your son's. I used to tell my clients who did this that, on the day of their leaving, to cancel anything  with only their name on it if they could, or have their name removed. Things like a mortgage or another type of loan, you can't mess with, but things like a cable bill, you can. Swing by the bank on your way out of town, and take all that's yours, or 1/2 of what's in there. Keep receipts. Donna, you never know what a drunk individual is going to do. He could get drunk one night, and if your vehicle is still there, for instance, he can smash in the windshield- no one saw him, so try proving it. You can't.He can say that a tree fell on it.  Again, try proving otherwise. The name of the game is 'self protection". I'm not suggesting you stay, just "be careful".   Becky
