Greetings Megan.

You are correct that there is no cure, but there are treatments. If you have a neurologist or local pain specialists there are several things they can try that may help. The real issue is that it is a trial and error for each individual. It took a couple years to find a medication that worked which ended up being cymbalta for me. Still playing with dosage as too much makes me very sleepy and dysfunctional, a capsule less and i'm awake but in some level of pain.

That said, your results will likely be different than mine and the process is very time consuming as most of the drugs they have to try take weeks to months before they reach full effectiveness, or not. But there is light down the tunnel and several of us here are very familiar with what you are going through.

I had extreme shoulder pain, felt like my shoulder was dislocated! My doc said it was 'arm/shoulder syndrome', prescribed low dose Elavil (common here) and pain was gone 3 days later. I've been on it for 2 years -- absolutely no side effects at all if taken in the morning. May not be the same as CPS, but may help?

Hi,

I feel the same some days, especially when I am in pain, but I live for days when I have less pain and have fun days with my son or just days I am content doing what I do.

I am not going to sugar coat how awful it is to have lost my career, my home and I wondered why God let me live only to die a thousand deaths. Some days though, I am grateful to be here and I did not miss this or that. And some people still needed me so here I am.

I have CPS in my right leg so bad that the powerful meds I was worked up to do not relieve me enough. So I have pain management team and a neurologist there that is a neuro surgeon who specializes in pain. I get RFA spinal procedures. please google because I cannot explain it well enough. And I get the anesthetic part of the spinal too. It all helps. I tooo, like Scott, was guinea pig for all sorts of medications, and for me I am on a coctail that I take regularly around the clock. It was not easy, but the end result is that I can walk and enjoy my new life. I lose it sometimes and cry especially when it hurts. There is a chance an electrode may help me.

I suggest keep seeking help and support. This is our journey now and god bless us all.
