Hi, I'm jean. On Feb. 19, 2009 I had a stroke while in surgery for the repair of an aneurysm on the right carotid artery. My left arm and leg were impaired. My left vision gone, . With great therapists at the hospital I made good progress until June 2009 when I had a second stroke that set me back to speech impaired and difficulty swallowing.
I'm now in out-patient therapy. My left vision still gone, speech much improved and swallowing improved. My left arm still immobile. Left leg has some movement. I can walk up to ten steps with a hemi-walker and assistance and hopefully that will improve. I have hope and determination to do better than thaat.

Hello Jean, I'm Fred, welcome aboard. I hope your recovery continues and you can see the improvement as you get better every day. It seems that if the first stroke don't cripple you the second one does. I just hope you can get much of your abilities back. I can walk, not very far so I have to use a scooter but I do drive anywhere I need to go.

Hope you enjoy the site here and log in often to read the message board. There is plenty to learn by being here, so settle back, make yourself at home and stay awhile!
