Hey Leigh, Welcome to the support group, my name is Fred! We're glad to have you join the support group here and hope you get to meet most of us at some point. I've been a survivor for almost 7-years now and not doing too bad in my recovery.

I hope you are doing well too in your recovery. It's a slow process helped by plenty of therapy year after year. I just finished a session yesterday for this year. I don't walk good and use a scooter but I drive. I hope you enjoy our group here on the Net as we have members all over the world.

It's great to be around family or your loved ones for support and care giving when you need it the most. A Stroke is a devastating set back in any one's life and the hardest part is accepting the stroke which cut you off from doing what you enjoy in life.

hi leigh,
Welcome to this wonderful online community which has been a lifeline to many of us.
I am a 48 yr old schoolteacher from india.
My stroke, which took place 9 yrs ago was due to a clot in the right carotid artery.
It necessitated an emergency craniotomy and left me paralysed pn the left.
I relearned to walk and am looking for more improvement in my left arm/ hand.
I live with my husband of 25 yrs, 22yr old daughter and 12yr old son
look forward to seeing you around.
anna
