About Me
I have been deaf since birth, raised in the hearing world, learned how to speak without being taught any sign language, and had chronic depression since I was 20 years old. I had been in college for a year and a half studying biology. I had a brain lesion less than a month before my 34th birthday, which was later shrank and revealed two tiny strokes next to each other. I recovered almost fully, only to be left with debilitating vertigo attacks and a changed vestibular system. Other than the physical consequences, my mental health was deeply affected. This is my story of survival and I hope to be able to enjoy life at the fullest.
