  3. Today is my 1 year anniversary of my wife's stroke. The days are turning into weeks, I have lost since of time. we are not handling the personality changes very well. The paranoia and negativity are almost to much to handle. We have an appointment with a psychiatrist this coming friday, praying for something positive.

      Hang in there it will get better. Being a caregiver and a spouse is so hard. I can't remember how I even got through those first few years. Make sure you talk to her doctor about all of the changes you are seeing in her. I found it helpful to talk to his doctor separately. Sometimes medication helps but you have to give it time. Ask for help too you need to take care of yourself so you can help take care of her. It has been 8 years now since my husbands stroke and things are better. One t...

      Thanks for the support. The increase in meds does not appear to be working after they were increased last month. I have to continue to remind myself that this is not my wife talking. I'm having family take turns calling her which has its good and bad points. Last night she Skyped with our daughter who was babysitting our grandsons.
