I just got a phone call from the retina specialist and there is still a blockage behind my right eye - it's not stable and they will have to change the meds I'm on. My vision in the left eye changes as the blockage in the right eye fluctuates. Nothing they can do. My vision in the right eye will only get worse, never better. And to think that I thought only seeing dark most of the time was bad.
The doctor is calling all the other doctors on my case from my primary doctor to my neurologi
Ok...had to nap after the dr. visit. Seems I sleep way too much these days - I usually take after my father and get 3-4 hours a night and that's it. Now I'm happy to sleep 24/7.
This dr. was a retina doctor (The next closest one is in Nashville) - he informed me that other than stem cell research, etc., my right eye vision is lost. All they can do is make sure my vision in my left eye doesn't get worse. Ironically, even though I'm depressed b/c he answered all of my questions honestly

I found another way to improve my manual dexterity...shuffling cards - they go flying sometimes and it turns into 52 card pickup - I was cleaning out the computer desk, they were there and I said "hey...I can use those".
I drop coins (from the penny jar) onto different surfaces and practice picking them up (although I've been known to cheat by using the other hand!)
I use those strips they use at the the lab and do finger exercies with them - like cat's cradle and just playing with th
Saw the ophthalmologist and got my eyes dilated and everything. He can't explain my vision.
He had me do a peripheral vision test...and then told me he'd never seen such good results from anyone - much less on the first try. I almost said it's called dissociation, try it, it works. But AI managed to keep my mouth shut.
He's sending me to a specialist to do an angiogram (?) of my eyes. He's concentrating on my left eye and the vision that is left. He's pretty much given up on the r
I was able to vacuum today w/o incident like falling over, etc....
The rest of my day I've been trying to figure out how to burn some of my dvd's for the ipod. I know I know how to do this...and yet, I haven't the slightest clue as to how to do it today or actually all week.
I feel so stupid. I have about 4 burning programs and I can't figure out a single one of them - not even while following the guides...seems I can't follow the guides right now either.
And to make this worse, i
I woke up this morning and totally freaked out. :laughbounce: My contact was blurry from sleep so I covered the left eye to see out of the right eye like I usually do - and realized I could see almost clearly around the edges. It's like there is a dime size black spot in the middle of my eye, but my optic nerve or retina or something is trying to see around it. :bouncing_off_wall:
I did the happy dance - trying to not get my hopes up and knowing that I'm going to fail on that. I see
Koda went to the vet today - apparently small dogs especially poms, have a tendency to have collapsing trachea's. So, that's why what I thought was a kennel cough wouldn't go away - he gets excited and his trachea collapses and he chokes and wheezes - kinda like we do. It's not as serious, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on as it can get serious. In the meantime, he can take robitussin and some pills. Most important, just calm him down by distracting him. This I can do.

I'm in HMO heck - trying to get the referral from my doc to see the ophthalmologist - which is just wrong, as I haven't seen my primary since this started As far as as I'm concerned my neuro has become my primary for now - unfortunately HMO rules don't think the same way I do.
I have the appt. set up via my optometrist - I just need the referral.
This is just short and sweet - I'm trying to track my progress and what I go through during this. I imagine many of my entires won't be
