Disfunctional biologically related units

Well, my male sibling unit somehow stole one of my checks and my debit card number. He then wrote at least one check for $3065. and then used my debit card number to pay for my cell phone bill, both unauthorized. I tried to report this to the police, but was told since he did not personally gain from this activity there was nothing I could do, no crime was committed. I then tried to explain the cell phone bill to my female sibling unit. (how my credit card number ended up as payment for my cel

I read the news today, oh boy

I was reading the morning newspaper and read something terribly shocking. It appears the old standby, VHS cassettes, will no longer be manufactured. My oh my, what am I to do. I guess I will have to just add them to my collection of 8 tracks. Woe is me. At least I wasn

Last week my mother and I were talking about how I was going to get to Arkansas, and she was angry at me because she did not want to ask my brother (the Saint) to take me to Arkansas with my

Tropical heat wave?

It has actually gotten above zero, we have a whole 1 degree this morning. It my even get to near freezing today. Poor Teddy is having a hard time. He woke me up at about 2:00 am. He was panting really hard, which usually means he wants to go outside. To stress his point he jumped out of bed and went to the door and pushed the curtan away. I got up and opened the door, even though it was -7 he went outside and peed like a racehorse, he melted a lot of the snow! Hopefully, if it does warm up

Here comes the snow

As you all may have noticed, I changed my profile picture. I decided it was time to update my picture, and I wanted to enclude Teddy. Actually, this is a fairly old picture, about 1998. It is one of the few pictures I have of Teddy as a puppy. This was taken where I worked. Teddy hated to stay home alone, so I would bring him to work. I would gradually have him spend less time in the office and more time at home, until he got used to me being gone. He eventually got used to it, but once I left,

A break in the weather

We had a couple of nice days before the latest storm came through yesterday. Teddy had two good days for walking; he went out twice on Sunday. He was able to go out yesterday. The day was nice, high about 65, before the front came through. Teddy went out about 3:00 pm and washout for about an hour. We had a few flurries while we were out, but no big deal. I have noticed quite a few geese flying south so winter is settling in. By 5:00 pm it had started snowing and got cold. By morning we had

Big mess

Yesterday was an unusually warm day for December with a high in the mid sixties, so I decided to tackle the patio. It was definitly a mess. I ended up throwing 2 garbage bags out on the patio after I was able to return to my room. One of the bags was full of stuff I had to throw out of my refigerator. Also, the patio was covered with fallen leaves. It took me a while but I managed to get it cleaned up to an acceptable level. Today, while I was going through some boxes I found some pictures of

A break in the weather

The last few days the weather has been pretty bad. It has been cold, windy and snowy. I guess we had about 4 inches of snow all together. On Saturday I was a bit worried about taking Teddy out. It was far too messy for one of his long walks. Fortunately, he was well behaved and only took a short walk.   I am gradually getting my room back to normal. It was a big mess, and caused me a lot of headaches (as well as a few naughty words). There are at least 3 rooms still not ready for residents t

TEDDY CELIBRATES OKTOBERFEST

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL Whilst (fancy olde English) I was walking Teddy the other day, he stopped at a bush and really started sniffing. As it turned out he found a bratwurst. Teddy was so proud of himself, he pararaded around with the sausage in his mouth, a bit unsure how he was going to eat it. I did not dare try and take it away from him because he would get mad, he can get very mad if you take away something he knows he is not allowed to have. Anyway, he eventually went back to the room

The great flood

Sat Nov 15 started as just a normal day. I took Teddy for a walk about 10:00 am. He returned just before 11:00. When we   approached the bldg, I could hear the fire alarm going off. Terry told me there was a broken water pipe down the hall   where I live, and I should go into the living room. I decided to stay outside, and soon the fire trucks started showing   up. It was a big mess I was told, and I could not go back to my room for maybe a week or two. At first, I would be   sha

Our first snow

We had our first snow of the year today. So far it isn't much, maybe about an inch, but it is cold near 30 degrees. It has been fairly warm, but very windy for the past few days. Teddy still looks for that cat's tail every time he walks down the hall, he stops to sniff under almost all of the doors, but especially the one where the cat lives. Last night, I was on the patio and Teddy was in bed, one of the women working here came inorder to empty the trash. Altthogh Teddy knew her, he barke

Teddy gets into a scrap

I was walking Teddy earlier this week, we were over at the building next door. They have a very nice patio, I quess you could call it. Anyway, it is really nice with a small pond. In order to leave the area, I had to open a door in the hall. The door makes an encosed space. In the corner was a squirrel, that was trapped. Teddy charged after the squirrel, and they got into a brief scap, both Teddy and the squirrel jumped and the squirrel squeaked and then ran away. It was really funny, Teddy fi

Teddy and the puddy cat's tail

Teddy and the puddy cat's tail   Last Sunday I took Teddy out for his afternoon walk a little early. I did not realize it was trick-or-treat for the children. Teddy enjoyed visiting with the children, especially the Mom's escorting the children. But the best time for Teddy was a room a few doors down the hall. The woman that lives there has a cat and the cat's tail was sticking out from underneath the door. Teddy made a run for the puddy cat's tail, but I was able to stop him before he grabb

Teddy the explorer

The evening belongs to Teddy. Usually, between 3:00 and 4:00 I take Teddy out and he goes where ever I can take him. There are two buildings in the complex where I live. I live in the Assisted Living and next door is an Independent Living facility. and Teddy loves to go exploring over there. He wears me out, but he has fun. New places to sniff and pee. Behind the building is a house with 2 Boston Terriers. Everytime Teddy walks by they start barking like crazy, luckily there is a fence, but Ted

The truth hurts

Finally after almost four years the truth about my brother came out. I sent an e-mail to my sister telling her that my brother had a Narcissist Personallity Disorder, and she believed me. All this time my parents blamed me and refused to listen to anything bad about my brother. They would even make excuses for him. Now, I do not know how to react to my parents. They basically allowed my brother to abuse me at will. Even after my counselor talked to my mother, she still believed the problem was m

On the dark side of the Moon

I have not written in a while because the last few weeks have been very difficult for me. I have been seeing a counselor and I think we found my brother's problem. He has a malignant narcissistic personality disorder. (he's a nut case), like I really didn't know that before. I see my counselor tomorrow and I hope there might be a beginning of the end. On Sept 29 my favorite aunt and really the only one beside Teddy that gave me unconditional love. My counselor talked to my mother and I had ho

True faces revealed

My biological rellted units finally revealed to me the way they really feel about me. I was talking to my maternal unit, and mentioned that I was happy in the Air Force and she reacted as if I told her my eyes were brown (they are blue,) she said no I wasn't. She later informed me that my brother gave me a job, as if it wasn't for him I would be homeless. And for me the final straw that really broke the camels back is that I am basically a drunk and it is only a matter of time until I start drin

A forbidding vision of the future?

Many years ago, when Teddy was just a puppy and we were returning back to Colorado from Arkansas, I had a very 'sick' thought. We were driving through Kansas, in the middle of nowhere. As we were driving I had a very odd thought. I could very easily just pull off to the side of the road, dump Teddy out of the car and just keep driving. Even thinking about that now upsets me. Obviously, I did not do it but ,I find it interesting in a way that is what my family did to me. I thought about what

Honourable Discharge

I was discharged from physical therapy today :out_of_here: I have pretty much met my goals (except for driving), I can walk to meals, walk outside and did car transfers. One of my therapist even said she thinks I can move on to independent living. I also found out the VA will pay for someone like Visiting Angels to help me with some of the things I can't do, but I can pretty much do everything myself. I am not quite sure what or when, I will be able to make changes. I go see my PCD at the VA ne

TEDDY HAS A GIRLFRIEND

Teddy has pretty much chased all the rabbits away, but he still finds one occasionally. He can spend up to an hour sitting or laying down in the grass waiting for the chance to chase a rabbit. Fortunately, until yesterday, he will not go out for a long time until it gets cooler in the late afternoon. Yesterday was the hottest day so far this year (96), Teddy wanted to go out. He only spent about 15 mins outside and was ready to go back in. He wasn't inside for very long until he started getting

Teddy the great white (and black) hunter

Recently quite a few rabbits have shown up around here. Teddy has really taken an interest in them. He loves chasing them but thoes 'waskly wabbits' don't play fair. They know he is on a leash and know to stay just far enough away from him. Teddy doesn't give up. At least one rabbit likes to hide in a small drainage pipe. Teddy will just set, or even lay down waiting for a rabbit. There are times I have to literally have to drag Teddy away from that pipe! He is having fun, and that what really c

Two seperate worlds

It has almost been 4 years since my stroke and I am living in two very different worlds. One is the world of thoes who knew me before my stroke and the oyher is thoes that have known me since my stroke. My realations with thoes that now me now is very supportive and positive, while thoes that I knew before is quickly diminishing. The pre-stroke people continue to find any excuse possible to blame my stroke on me. The fact I really don't have a history of excessive drinking, and have been 100% so

counseling

Last Friday,I started seeing a counselor about my family problems. Today she discusses an intervention, which has really started me to thinking. When I was in the Air Force, I was given a very rare honor. Because of my Security Clearance I was given access to some of the most sensative secrets in the naqtion. With that honor came responsibilities. If I ever violated that trust I would be out, no questions asked. In many ways I gave my family the same type of access to me. My brother especially,
