Hi everyone
Got back home about three hours ago. I had a great holiday with some great friends. The sign over the door read "Sit long...chat much" and that is pretty much what we did.
Good food, good conversation and good friends are very hard to beat.

Hi everyone
Just a quick entry in my blog to let everyone know that I plan to be away for a couple of days.
I plan to head out Saturday after lunch (my time AST) and be gone for two to three days.
Plan is to be back sometime on Monday.
Sooo.....dont forget to water my plants and feed the cat k.
I hope to catch the survivor chat tonight (Wednesday and Thursday) and then catch up with all of you next week.

Well I made it. Sunday Dec 4th and that means that I have managed to live one more year. The odometer has turned up another 40,000 k eh. (kilometers in Canada eh)
Well maybe that is a bit of a streech. LOL
I do a lot of walking these days, watch my diet as best as I can and keep the stress level as low as possible.
In my mind it feels like I just turned 20 but the bod says that it is only willing to do so much.

The clock just turned over to a new day and also a new month. December 1st.
The last month in 2005. Is it me or has the year slipped away at a faster pace then I would've believed.
I guess the trip to the West coast in Feb/March put a bit of a hole in the winter.

We had the meeting at the hospital board room on Thursday morning. I was the only survivor that showed up.
(I guess we have no survivors in the area or they are all shy)
Since the stats say that 200 people on Prince Edward Island suffer a stroke every year then I am sure that there are survivors in the area.

The lady that I work with at the office went into hospital last Thursday for a hip replacement operation.

Cyberspace is a wonderful place for stroke survivors.
In Cyberspace the effects of our strokes seem to melt away.
I can run faster than ever. Perry can talk up a storm. Peg can hear every word that is spoken. Pam can be whoever she desires to be.
Oh what a place...Cyberspace.
We can have so much fun when we have a virtual party in cyberspace. Anything can happen (within reason)

Well it's Sunday nite and I have just checked my emails and talked to my sister on MSN Messenger for the first time. Yep she is back on line and says that she is determined to learn how to use the computer.

I know "Shock and Awe". I can't believe that my last blog was on August 1st. (almost two and a half months ago eh)
Well this blog thing does not seem to come naturally and I Think that I need some practice as well as some training.

I woke up this morning moving my left wrist back and forth (flexing). Not huge but hay it is moving and obviously my buddy the brain has figured out that I want it to flex.
So I tried to rotate it as well. Not so much movement there but it is very relaxed when I do my rotation excersises. (using my right hand to move it back and forth.)
My left arm is feeling quite relaxed now and it slips easily into my left pants pocket when I am out walking.

Well it is one week since I received my Botox treatment and all seems to be proceeding as planned.

First I have experienced a relaxing of the arm since getting the injections on Thursday.
As it has relaxed it has dropped down and hence my centre of gravity is changing. As my COG changes I have to adjust my balance.
I am also noticing that the stress points in my back are changing as well.

Well today is July 21 st 2005 and I received my first treatment of Botox injections. (35 months post stroke)
It took about 30 minutes and consisted of the following.
1) Taken into the examining room to wait for the doctor.
2) Doctor comes in and tells me that I will need to remove my shirt for the procedure.
3) I take off the shirt and lie down on the examining table face up.
4) The doctor "Tests" me at this point. range of motion of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
Well Cinder's blog did it too me. I got that image of Jean before wrinkles stuck in my mind (or what's left of it)
So I just couldn't resist....... I found a picture that was taken about 15 or so years ago. Hay I guess i've had the grey hair for awhile eh.

I was up by shortly after 7 this morning. Packed a lunch and met my ride to the office by 7:45.
Spent the day on the computer doing billings for jobs that are now finished.
This was an extra day at the office as I was there yesterday as usual.
Got home by 5:30 and had a quick supper. Changed my clothes and was ready to be picked up for a meeting that lasted till 9:30.

Here is some information on the "Big Bike for Stroke" fund raising events that are being held accross Canada this summer.
My sister rode the big bike in Surrey B.C. and told me that she was able to raise 300 dollars with her ride. (it looks like a lot of fun and impressive funds being raised as well)
She sent me a white t shirt and red Cap with the "Big Bike for Stroke" logo on them. (cool)
I have already been asked about the logo and what it is all about.
