well as you know the telemarketercan be very anoyingand they don"t seem to unferstand the word noso i have decided that the only way to deal with the telimarketer that is selling cellphones and problem with a computer or to make sure i get the best deal by going to a different server, and rather than to argue the point i just hang up if you try to be nice and say no thanks they tend to go on and on and i know that it is probably a scam a scam to get all the information that they can get from you your credit card numbers your name and your canada security numbers and they phone all the time about the same thing you just win a car or a new house or a plant that i can bring to you if you just tell mehow to get to your home stupid do you think i amanyway be on the lookout for another scam from our telimarketer or better yet buy a whistle so when they phone with another creative way to scam and to sell you something that you don"t need don"t say no cause they won"t listen to you blow your whisle right in the esar of the telimarketer i know that is cruelbut i bet then they will han=g up and hopefully never phone again i am usually a nice guy but there do try my patients and with the scam that uis out there tring to gret your money or yourname get mad i know i do i just need to vent thank you for listening

Lenny, This is sad, but so true. Being nice with telemarketers gets you no where. I do like the whistle idea though. lol. Intend to Have a great day!

Lenny, sounds like you need caller ID, so if you don't recognize the incoming #, you don't even answer the phone. I've ticked off a few of them when they can't pronounce my German last name, by speaking the little bit of German that I know, and they don't know how to respond, so they hang up on me! lol :)

being assertive is ok. you did not initiate the call so don't owe consideration I refuse to answer certain questions ie how much do you pay for your current satellite provider "my business" I can see it is a good deal - but I am happy with my current service and I choose not to change. Goodbye

 

If it is easier just to terminate conversation -- that is YOUR RIGHT

Being nice is admirable but it can open the door for your being taken advantage of

 

you always have the right to say no - it can be said firmly& kindly - does not have to be said nasty & degrading.

 

 

Remember they are inconveniencing you.
