Get on with living

Well, it's been a while since I've posted and nothing is new. I didn't have an inner ear infection, just dizzy from the stroke. I don't have A-FIB, at least that's what the heart monitor that I wore for a month said.

I have been less and less dizzy, so I'm feeling kinda back to normal. The one place that I still can't go is the bowling alley?! I don't know if it's all the lights and colors, but I feel dizzy and nauseous. I have been bowling for the past 30 years and kinda miss it. Maybe next year.

I still don't know why it happened, but it happened. I do know I'm thankfull that I don't have more lasting effects. God needed me to stick around for a while, I guess that's ok, He's in control.

Until the next time, take care and God bless!

thanks for updating us about your life. life becomes so much joyful once you realised & adjust to your new normal, there is still great life post stroke too. you survived for a reason & not as punishment, there is some great lesson to be learnt in this stroke experience.letting go & let God take care of us is good way to start on this post stroke journey.

Hey, I didn't know you were a bowler and had been for that many years WOW!! I miss it to and I go on Tuesdays at noon to see my senior bowlers for an hour or so and their questions are, "When are you coming back" and start bowling and drilling balls again??

In my case it's all over for me, running a Pro Shop or bowling!! I'm OK with it and had fun won money and flat had a good time since 1988 until 2004!!

You keep on getting better and get on with living your life I agree with that notion!!

Glad to hear you are getting along...don't give up on the bowling yet. My husband (2 yrs. post stroke) tried bowling just a couple of weeks ago. He used to like to bowl, too. Our granddaughter inspired him to try (she's an avid 11 yr. old bowler) with her. He got 75! We all were so excited for him and he had a big grin on his face the whole time. He just bowled one game but it was a big step. Lights and sounds still bother him some and he still gets dizzy, but has gotten much better the last couple of months. It was a really quiet time at the alley so that helped, too. Glad you don't have A-Fib problems--take care, Cindy

Had a couple of days of being real dizzy again. :( I didn't fall, but was close one time. I did notice that when I look up it bothers me more. I don't know if there is some blood supply that is getting pinched, I will have to ask the doctor the next visit. At times I think as long as I feel good, they can forget about figuring out what was the cause. I guess if my heart is good and nothing really jumps out.....I am doing what I should be doing anyway. Getting more exercise, eating better (sometimes! ;) ) I guess that's all I can do.

My husband set up a new hunting stand for me (lower to the ground) so I'm looking forward to getting out in the woods next weekend. Look out deer, here I come! Take care! Greta
