Decisions,,,,decisions..... I need to decide....

Well, I put off the job offer that I have. waiting to hear back on another one. I think that I will just go for the one that I do have.

I have to be practical. It is a bad job market. I am fortunate to have gotten an offer so soon.

I checked out the distance to either job. 23 miles. that is 30 minutes if I drive to either job. So I think that I will take the one that I have. I was called today, He wanted to make sure that I did not pass up this offer. I will think about it tonight and then e-mail my accecptance tomorrow. the only shifts available are the 11A to 9P and the 1P to midnight. If I drive myself then the 11A to 9P shift would be perfect. I will not be in rush time traffic.

The other one will let me know sometime next week. They are just too slow. I need to respond to the first one.

What should I do?

Any advice is welcome.

If I wait to hear from the second job then I lose the 1st job and if they say they do not want me then I have nothing.

We did go and see the Lincoln movie. It was good. Slow but good. As William said he knew more than they told us.

I took him swimming in the morning and I had him play pickle ball in the afternoon. He is dead tired now and sleeping.

Call the other company tomorrow morning and tell them you need to accept the other job TODAY if they are not able to make you a job offer. But... it seems I remember that you didn't need a job.... this one will take you out of his complete day, no? What are the hours on the other one? I guess my point is, if you don't NEED the job to survive, you can afford to wait on a job that still leaves you time with your husband, unless you don't want that. ?

Ruth: I think you have to weigh the pros and cons to each position. Which one calls to you, regardless of whether or not the offer is on the table? From there, you can decide if you can wait for the second position.

I know you would like to sew something up soonest, get back on the track before the holidays and have your caregiver on board. But, Ruth, you are a Pharmacist. There are parts of your career that you love and some you hate. Try to sort out which one gives you more of the "I love."

I am stuck in paperwork. I am best and happiest doing hand-on patient care. But I can't abandon 20 patients if I am needed at home. And I certainly can not, at this time, remove myself mentally from my responsibilities at home. So I appreciate that my employer found a position for me, I still have some patient contact and have my outlet.

Those are the things you have to think of. What will work best for you - #1. Because William will be happy if you are. I know that from Bruce. William will adjust. Not like having you home 24/7, but he knows that is not what is best for you.

Do a pro-con list on both positions. Take a break - go get a cup of tea or glass of wine and then go back to your list. Your inner self will tell you. Best and please let us know, Debbie

funny a position opened up ( i knew it was coming) at my old job --- and dan has given me the blessing -- and i loved my job , hated the stress of it but also excelled in/ with stress.. former co workers are encouraging me to come back ( providing the powers that be would allow - i burned a few bridges) but it just doesent feel right so i think for now i am gonna pass on it and wait and see what happens.. you Ruth are more motivated than me - obviously with all you do to help william improve and working fulltime through it all ... i guess my only thought is make sure you are going to be doing something you want to do- or you will go straight back to that unhappy place in your world.. but yes the job market in places other than where i happen to live is bad-- ummm ND has lots of open positions for your paticular field -- care to come and freeze?? LOL go with your gut and at least with your education you do have options...nancyl

Thank you all. I needed some input.

I was told from two different sources: the pro and con list. That really made the choice easy.

I am leaning toward the call center. It will be alot less stress. and something that it very different. I am excited about learning somthing new.

Ruth :

call the other place & let them know that you need to decide which offer to accept so if they can let you know quickly. do pros & cons & then pick the one you like

And you asked, "What should I do? "Any advise is welcome" Well my friend here it is, Write each job on a piece of paper the same size then place them in a small container, shake it up, then reach in and draw one out!!!

That will be the job of of your choice and happy working!!

SEE case solved!!!

My advice would be to chose the job that you feel would be the least stressful. After all, caregiving can be stressful and recovery is slow and ever changing sometimes.

Good luck in you decision, and It's nice you have the choices.
