August Stuff
A few interesting tidbits along the way:
Aug 6: Bob used to make extensive power point presentations, but lost all his computer skills. He can barely work the remote for Dish Network that we've had for 15 years! Anyway, I decided he had more attention and might be able to try solataire. It would be a problem because he's left handed so the mouse wouldn't work, and to move the cards, you'd have to hold down the butotn on the laptop, while moving the finger across the pad part. He actually did, it, and I was amazed, because he often can;t remember how to hit just the button! Then I thought, boy, I must be stupid, because he had a kindle fire and it is TOUCH SCREEN, I just need to look for an ap! I found a free solataire and he played and WON!
Aug 8: I had a meeting with our insurance agent to do a check up on our coverages. I had my cell phone with me, I keep a cheap tracfone incase Bob needs to call me when I'm out. So, while I'm at the meeting, it makes this little blurp noise. Usuallly, that is a text from tracfone telling me about some special. In a minute, it makes another one. I thought a few seconds, and remembered that sometimes, it also makes that noise when I get a call, and somehow it doesn't come thru all the way in a ring, and leaves a blurp for a missed message. So I grab the phone and see it was him and I thought he might have to go BM and so was worried he was feeling the need (he can't hold it), or something else was wrong, so I nervously call him back. He answers and says, "I'm glad you called!" I said, "what's wrong!?", I ask fearfully. He said, "nothing... .I'm just glad you called!" Ha, ha, that was cute, my eyes filled with tears.
Aug 15: Bob engrossed in important stuff!:
Last year when Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger came out, Bob was in heaven! We would drive by and get him one every time he had therapy, on the way home. He would have PT, then speech. Toward the end of speech, he'd start getting so tired, and I'd remind him we were going to get the Pretzel Burger, and he'd start smiling and laughing, so happy to think about it. Then he was sooooooooo upset when they stopped having them. He would get mad if he even heard the words Pretzel Cheeseburger!
So, you know they are back for now.... here's the funny part. Last night I wanted to show him something and as I approached him, I saw him looking at the tv with all his interest, and he held up his hand to stop me from breaking into what he was doing. I could hear him faintly singing, "I'm the one who really wants to be with you..." fade to Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger commercial:
