well unfortunately , we have to face the cold and very icy conditions, of winter. so just be very , very careful PLEASE, as you know you could slip on the ice. so what I am doing to ensure that I will continue to get my twice a day walk , in so I don"t have to worry about slipping and falling on ice , or snow, I am now going for a walk, in the mall. yes because of Christmas it is very busy that's for sure , but I would much rather face the crowds then break a hip, and the positive of being in the mall is you can now shop for your significant other . and of coarse it is very warmer , and when I deal with cold I tend to get tone kinda like spasticity, so to avoid that problem, I stay warm and less spasticity, and since I am there in the mall, I just shop.so please take heed, this is the time where lots of accidents happen in the very cold and winter months so stay safe and keep on walking. I always go walking to the mall with a mall walker friend that way when we meet we can have a cup of coffee together go for a bit to eat and just have a great stroll in the mall works great, and the most important thing is it is very, very safe . so stay safe and stay warm and enjoy your day and a very, very merry Christmas to you!!!

Way to go Lenny, walking in the mall.  I had a Canadian uncle and he did a lot of that after having knee surgery.  Thanks for the reminder that people do not have to be shut in, there are places to go.  IN the busy run up to Christmas it is easy to feel left out of life so in a busy mall with that life all around you, maybe a cup of coffee to relax and recuperate eh?

You are wise Lenny! My only living aunt is a spry 93 years of age and the mall is her friend! She discovered the mall opened an hour early for those who want to be safe and walk, so she and a friend have walked in the mall for several years. She lives in snow country too, northern Michigan! Like you she can walk, then enjoy a cup of coffee and bite to eat before going back into the cold to get home - safely!
