Shortyy

So, I had a few major seizures last week and the doctors gave me Propofol to knock me out of them for a bit because the seizures weren't stopping. I was out for about a day or so, and then awake in the ICU for an additional day. The doctors then moved me out into another part of the hospital for the rest of my recovery. I broke out as soon as I could and I'm not looking back :) . So, instead I'm changing some unhealthy habits that I've picked up along the way; I am eating better, more often, more healthier, cutting caffeine out, and will be re-filling my anti-seizure medicine for preventive measures. Things are looking up.

So sorry you have had to have another hospital stay.  My Ray had seizures the last year of his life andhad to be hospitalized.  Not a good place to be so I am glad you got out as soon as you were well enough. My good wishes and prayers coming your way for a more settled and better life from now on.

Sue.

I feel for you and those seizures, man I'm so glad I haven't had them yet and hope I never do because it is hard enough for me to like I am now at my age and it's been 11 years of recovery already....

I am glad you are looking ahead to better days ahead. That was a scary hard thing to go through and so hard when life gets interrupted with health stuff when there is so many other things we are trying to get done.  I admire your willow strength of bending and not breaking.  This will carry you so far and be such a comfort to you because you know that no matter what comes your way you can weather it.

I would reframe the idea of being dependent upon your family, which I know can be so difficult for young people longing for independence, and I would view it as them depending upon you staying healthy and well and being in their lives.  Do what you must to live well.  It may seem harder to go to college and do anything while being on those nasty meds that make you sleepy. I know because i am doing it.  I just take less classes and take more time to get anything done. I give myself room to sleep and take care of myself.  I find it rewarding just to take one day at a time and find some joy and accomplishment in some small thing I do and not compare myself to what I think I should be. I look at me and love what I have to work with. If I don't then who will?  I am still here and not worried if anyone says I am too old to be working on dreams....there are lots of folks in history who did their life's work after age 50 so why not me?  you are even younger so don't worry about time or age just go find something that helps you find meaning in one day at a time and a dream a goal.  you will find that your light may attract and help others find their way.  thanks for posting about your strength.
