Our holiday update

Greetings and a late Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This Christmas was so much more enjoyable. Larry was home and able to enjoy his Christmas here instead of the SNF. He is doing well. My daughter came in from Michigan, and Larry's kids and families and my son had our Christmas dinner here yesterday. The weather was mild and dry until today as we are having a lot of rain. We went to church on Christmas Day, and that was wonderful as Larry had not been to church since his illness. We are able to watch our church service on "live stream" on the internet. That has been a godsend as it is difficult to get Larry to church with his feeding schedule, etc. Our visiting pastor comes once a month and gives us communion.

Larry's newest health issue is sleep apnea. It is not a new issue as he could not get use to the sleep mask several years ago. We are trying a new mask now and hopefully that will work. He has no more shoulder or back pain as that disappeared earlier this summer. All in all, he is doing well considering how serious his health was at the end of last year. He is able to walk with his cane and has even gained 11 lbs. since being discharged from the SNF in February. My son is living with us now until he can get a better job. He has been a tremendous help to me as I don't think I could do it all now by myself. So, we are helping each other.

Best wishes to all for a Happy and healthy 2016.

You know Julie, I haven't been to church in over a few months now because of my slow walking ability and my wife would have to hold on to me after I exit the vehicle to help me stay on my feet and not fall.....

So I got to wait a few more weeks to gain my strength back plus when I sit that long she has to help me get to my feet to walk out the pew is just too low for me to stand up myself.... I just don't want to use my scooter and have to park in the isle.....

I wish our church had a section for wheelchairs and scooter because there are plenty old members age 70 and up that are just slow......

My wife's people came in from New Orleans so we had a house full until yesterday they all went back home....

Best wishes to you and Larry for a great new year and his healing process to come......
