Tests complete

Today was the culmination of two days of starvation for both of us. When Hans can't eat, I won't either so we have eaten a lot of lime Jello and drank everything in sight that could be considered "clear liquids". I had my MRI on my back yesterday (Thursday) and got home in time to get Hans to the hospital to pre-register for his procedures this morning. We were at the hospital from 2:30 until nearly 5:00 just getting some blood work done and an EKG. It was like a three ring circus there. No one seemed to know what they were doing and it really left me with a funny feeling but we finally got all of that completed. Then this morning we went to the hospital promptly at 9:30, our appointed time and again we were in the circus. We were finally taken to Day Surgery at 10:30 and his procedures began at about 11:30. We were finally home by 2:30. The Dr. said everything looked good. There was a lot of extra bile in the stomach and also in the colon. He prescribed a powder that we mix with liquid to help absorb the bile. He thinks this may help the diarrhea situation. We will see. We also have a new med for his nebulizer so maybe he can breath better. We get all of our results back within the next two weeks. I'm really hoping for some really really good news. I could stand some right now. We are just grateful that this part is over. The Dr. did not seem to have any trouble with doing these procedures without the usual prep for a colonoscopy. Of course, Hans has had diarrhea so bad for so long there probably wouldn't have been much in there even without the two days of clear liquids.

I continue to be amazed at how blessed we are to have the van. It is wonderful. I need some new tires on it but by September, I can afford them. This month is insurance time. We again are so blessed to have the resources coming in to do these things. I praise God for getting us in the financial position we are in so we can live at home like we do. God is good - all the time.
