Some of my mental thoughs

I'm selfishly happy that school will be remote, till at least mid-October. That means that my son will still be able to come visit my on the weekends, as per regular, but when school starts, we  will have to go back to Face Time, Zoom and other ways because the county he is in has a higher amount of Covid-19 than mine and school is a cesspool of germs. It's funny how we would not be thinking about this like we are now.  We have to keep PPE where I work and conduct temp checks , masks, gloves daily. It's a scary time.

It's scary if you let it be. You need to take care of you and those close to you but still remember there are many many things we have no control over at all, so pick your battles, do what's right for you and try not to worry about what you can't control.

I'm not saying this is nice or easy, hang in there HUGS

I haven't seen my grandchildren from Adelaide for seven months and won't see them probably till January due to Covid and that we have closed borders between our states to help stop transmission. I wear a mask to church, for medical appointments and a few other places. It is not ideal but it is doable. None of us know when this will end and it is sad families are being kept apart because of it. Keep safe and one day this will be over.

you are correct. I'm finding myself , as stated in HostTracy's blog post that after stroke, I find I was made for this. That being not being around many people. I get anxiety and I didn't go out to much before Covid either. Now before the stroke, you couldn't keep me home.  Sadly when I try to blog, my brain has this whole thought but i find I leave a lot of my posts out.  I work with people with handicaps and the fear of getting something and bringing it to work. That's why I'm nervous. My son never came to visit me when he had a cold, for that same reason.

Sue, I tell folks I'm glad to wear a mask for no one can see me talking under my breath. lol

HA HA Kelli and Sue I just told Hailey today wearing my mask is a good way for me to feel a bit better about allowing myself out while corona lazy. No one can really tell who it is lol. So hair in a super messy bun or needing a wash, no make-up, really laid back comfy clothes I might normally save for inside. It's possible it is a false sense of security but it works for me! Now, my glasses fogging and the literal sauna going on in there is 100% a downfall. I make quick trips and have been known to remove my mask for a few minutes because I feel like I can't breath (I think it's my asthma....asthma and humidity don't mix). Sometimes I just have to leave and go home. All in all it is probably keeping me from being around others even more. I say win - win!!!! :big-grin:

Mask wearing and humidity is going to be a problem here in summer too. Not sure how I am going to cope with that. Some people go back to their car and sit for a while, so that might be a solution. I already have a problem with my waist to toe pressure stockings in summer. I guess these are just challenges we have to face to do what we need to do.

Sue my mum now has a face shield for when she goes somewhere a mask is actually necessary, as well as a letter from her doctor that exempts her from wearing a face cover under the rules. She has a form of COPD so even a simple cloth mask restricts her air flow enough to cause problems.  But she is pretty much not going out. even though risk should be low in her area.

Tracy yes I too enjoy the "anonymity" of wearing a mask. I'm not sure if I'll feel the same by Summer, but right now when it's cold out, I like that the mask keeps your nose warm when out for daily permitted exercise.

Heather... Yes ma'am! I also think it is a wonderful idea to wear a face shield and having a Dr. note. I have read that a face shield is great for barrier protection. Sue, I'm sweating just listening to your coming summer! 😥 That one thing (breathing while wearing a mask) has been the absolute most difficult for me. I can even get dizzy. As much as I can I avoid it. So I try to make a really good need list together before I go out on an adventure so I can get everything fir a while in one go. Good luck to you! You might consider the face shield idea (even if you alternate to catch your breath).

my brother is in Mudgee and wants to visit; my mum can feel your pain.  I tease my brother and say we don't want him, but the truth is I'd love to see him.

This has to end...right?

I hope you can visit him too.  I shocked my niece today for I didn't go up to her for a hug. I told her I love her but I don't know where she's been. lol

Janelle, I hope you can see your brother soon. I am frustrated by our  border issues, I was to go to Queensland to see Ray's older brother this year as he turns 80 in October but that can't happen now. I haven't seen him and his family for eight years, the last time was at Ray's funeral  so this was going to be a bit of a reunion. Covid has taken do much away from us all.

I read today Sue that scomo is hoping borders will be open at the end of the year?

Maybe a late celebration?

Wayne is 50 in November and we are planning a small get together.  We are hoping there's no second wave to stop that happening.  Trying to be positive, I did say we have a whole year of him being 50 to have a celebration. The angst his mother has caused him, I'm really hoping we can celebrate in November.

Absolutely Heather.

We as a state, joked about Victoria.  A lot.

Now, everyone is like Wow, serious stuff. Hopefully it'll be under control soon.
