steps on the right path

I think back on today and it seems all about the steps we take. Everyone says stroke improvement comes in baby steps and we took another baby step today. Ray got a cancellation appointment with the neurologist. One step on the way to maybe finding a solution to why Ray is having strokes when in theory all the meds etc should stop it happening. The neurologist recommended some treatment, another possible step in the right direction.

This is why I came into StrokeNet, after Ray had the stroke on 20th May, after it was misdiagnosed etc. I was in such confusion and despair and I found this site with all it's opportunities to get a lot of it off my mind by simply writing it down. Pretty neat, eh?

The last stroke was a step backwards or maybe a few steps backwards. But a little at a time Ray and I manage to get back to where we were before it happened.

Does this life we lead after surviving/caregiving a stroke seem a lot like snakes and ladders? Throw the dice, get another TIA, slide down a small snake, throw the dice, get a doctor's appointment right away, race up a small ladder.

Pack up the board, put the game away. Good-night..

SUE,

I FEEL LIKE THAT MANY TIMES. TAKING STEPS FORWARD TO BE DISSAPPOINTED TO STEP BACKWARDS. I BELIEVE , LIKE YOU MENTIONED, IT'S KIND OF LIKE THE THROW OF THE DICE SOMETIMES!!!! IT'S GREAT YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER TO LIKE BEFORE, THANKS FOR SHARING THAT.
