The Up's and Down's of Pregnancy
I found out on Jan 27th that I am expecting! We are soooo happy and excited that we are beside ourselves
We sat the kids down the night of the 27th and told them about the baby. They are all very happy. The girls want a girl and my son want's a boy. Typical.
The next day while the kids were at school telling all of their friends we told our parents. I found these little books at the dollar store that had Bible scripture in them (the name of the book was "Light of My Path for Grandparents"). I then found some bookmarks that said "New Grandma" and "New Grandpa" on them. I marked the chapters in the book the were titled "Grandchildren" and "Joy". I then found a poem that read:
Pink or blue, we wish we knew....
Either way we have news for you!
Get your calendar, and mark the date.
There's a special reason to celebrate...
1,2,3, now here's 4!
We couldn't ask for anything more.
September 25th is the aticipated date.
We're so excited, we can hardly wait!
I took that poem and taped it in the front of each book and we presented it to our Mom's.
My Mother-n-Law didn't have her glasses on so we ended up blurting it out to her. We were a little worried how Lee's parent's would take the news for in the past they have said that they felt we shouldn't have any more kids. But they are both very happy and excited about it.
When we gave my Mom her book I asked her to put on her glasses ahead of time so she could read the poem and book marks. We were also concerned about her reaction as I feared she would worry about me and the baby due to my stroke last year. But she was so happy that she cried. Now that took me by BIG supprise cause my Mom is not the crying type. But she knows how long I have wanted another baby. She can't wait and is already talking about a baby shower and names.
Friday night we let the kids tell all of our church family and they too are happy for us. Counting myself there are now 4 women pregnant in my church all due with in a couple of months of each other.
I had taken a Beta HCG test on the 26th and got the results on the 27th. When the docs office called she said she wanted me to repeat the test on the 28th so she could get the #'s she needed for comparison. Soooo that's what I did. This morning she called with the results and #'s. She was a bit concerned because the first test had a # of 30. The second test should have doubled but did not. It was only a 42. So she put me on some progesterone meds to help boost the #'s and keep me from miscarring. I will take the meds for 14 day's and hopefully they will help. I'm trying my best to stay positive and keep faith. I know that I and the baby are in God's hands and He will take care of us.
I also schedualed my 1st offical doctors appt. It's for tommorow at 1:30 p.m. I'm hoping they will be able to do an ultrasound and see the baby's heartbeat. I think that will ease my mind a lot.
Well, that's it for now. I will try my best to come in from time to time to update this blog and keep everyone posted on my and the babies progress! Take care and God Bless! And please keep us both in your prayers!
