Chris has been doing very well. We are waiting for a call from the nurse of the rehab doctor of the stroke and brain injury facility where Chris will be going for outpatient therapy. There is also a chance after seeing the doctor that Chris will go inpatient for extensive PT/OT for 30 to 45 days. He is working very hard at all his exercises and has really built up strength in his right side.

The past few days though he has been very tired but he is still on the antibiotic for the urinary and sinus infection. So I really think it is just a healing process.

The past few evenings he is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!! But its a good thing!!!!

GABBY - he is so gabby that you can't even hear the TV and commenting on everything he sees on TV. It's almost like his brain is in overdrive. It actually gets to the point where it is funny. It really seems like his memory is getting back to the way it was before the stroke. So let him CHAT away - I just turn the TV up louder.

Today the doctor had started him on daily Lasix. He has been having problems with his ankles and feet swelling by evening, even with keeping his legs elevated during the day. Two days ago - his affected hand was swollen. The only explanation that I have been given is the fact that he is not using the left side of his body and that will cause the water retention. I have really learned to communicate and trust Chris' doctor, so I'll add one more pill to his daily regimen.

I often have said - If I go senile - this whole family will be in serious trouble.......
