Ok, I've basically got this Friday and next week to make something happen here and force myself into the Christmas mood(not as ready as last year). I've got some stuff bought for daughter and relatives states away but only one thing each for son and hubbie and nothing for the parents...It sure would help if these guys would volunteer some ideas. Sounds like the weekly trip for groceries. Only been doin it for 14 years and not many ideas..gets old...

Everyone is fighting me on the Christmas tree thing. I've turned into grinch for wanting a fake tree. Everyone else acts like sacriledge. "you can't smell it,if its fake" is the main scream...I just hate having to depend on the big gun to haul home a tree. If I had a fake one it would be up already!

I'm always trying to find as much as I can that I can do without having to wait for the hubbie to take the burden off him..Did some wrapping and decorating yesterday and its suppose to hopefully reach a whole whoppen 34 degrees this weekend...So we can do the lights..I said let'smove our buts when it was 60 something a month ago but NOOOOONE would listen, ohhhh we have plenty of time...yeah who's gonna freezetheir buns nowwwww.... secret.gif

babysitting for my girlfriend today so she can clean someone's house...It will be fun to actually have children around who everything IS NOT open for debate... beer.gif

Bizarre that I should land here tonight and this was the first thing I read. We have just come from a "Xmas in July" dinner. These are very popular in Australia as we usually have around 100 degrees for our Christmas Day so have seafood, cold meats and salad.

Tonight we had spiced ham and baked veg, and Christmas pud and brandied custard. Our Lions Club singing group sang some Christmas songs with funny words and we all took gifts which will go to kids in the Childrens ward at the local hospital.

When we came out it was blowing a gale, the wind was howling and the sound of the breakers ( we meet at a Surf lifesaving clubhouse) was deafening. The driving rain was so cold it could easily have been snow stinging our cheeks.

So why is it Christmas at your house?

Sue.
