COMFORT IS....

 

What brings comfort to me??

 

The beauty of the city lights from the top of the hill late at night

 

The silence of nighttime

 

The purring of my cats

 

Giving and sharing my heart with friends

 

My apartment where I make my home

 

Knowing I'm needed and that others are glad to see you

 

A shoulder to cry on when things are all wrong

 

A hand that will hold mine loneliness sets in

 

My fishtanks as they make that bubbling sound

 

And knowing that people think I'm funny

 

But most comforting of all is having people who care

 

Like those at the chatline the people I've met

 

The survivors and caregivers on strokenetwork

 

That friendship just cannot be beat.
