It's been a really long time since I have been on the site. My computer has been down and it really didn't seem like the most important thing to worry about. Boy was I wrong.....with everything that has been happening over the past several months the worst thing I could have lost was my support from this site.

Chris is doing O.K. He was in the hospital in January for pneumonia. He then went through 6 weeks of homecare PT and OT. This illness really pushed him backwards. Now he has insulin dependant diabetes - everything was going somewhat well with that - but recently his blood sugars are going wacky. So I am working now very closely with his doctor to try to get him back into control. Just 2 weeks ago his had another case of pneumonia - this one was mild and he was able to be at home. Now he has open wounds on his foot - we make weekly trips to the wound care center at our hospital, this seems like a losing battle. One week the wounds look good and seem to be closing and the next they are right back open. Although alot is changing, Chris still keeps a really good atitude about everything.

In March my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. First the doctors thought he had pneumonia and after a course of antibotics he wasn't getting any better. So the doctors ordered another chest x-ray which then went to a cat scan and then a PET scan. The final diagnosis came back. In March he had his lung removed - that was the hardest thing I think I have gone through in a long time. To see my father suffer in such pain after the surgery. He spent 7 days in ICU. They were the longest 7 days.....I can say it was quite difficult dealing with the situation and trying to be there for my mother.......my father became more dependant upon me for daily visits........trying to continue to work...........take care of Chris..........the house and the whole 9 yards. But I got through it...........alittle more gray........but can thank God and say that my father is doing very well and today was outside trying to cut the grass. He would make a few laps and then sit down and rest. But it was great to see him trying to get back to his old self again.

I really missed the support and friendship from this site. It's great to be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I once again look very forward to my nightly visits to this site.
