Hoist Saga

I had a lovely day yesterday. My brother and sister went to mum's and there we all saw a cousin. There was much talk of the good old days, we stayed hours and were the last to leave. The only sad thing was seeing a recentish picture of dad. Made me realise he was missing though in a way he wasn't. Brings me round to something I've never admitted before. For a long while I assumed I was dying, because my bed reminded me of the electric bed dad had in his last few weeks. Stupid eh? Glad I got over those feelings.

Soon after we got home my mother in law came. I asked to stand early thinking she might like to see and I was right. Poor thing I suddenly seemed a giant stood up, she's not quite five feet tall!

All week the saga of the hoist has been running, hope it resolves soon. Complicated story; husband phoned for a service. The promised call back didn't materialise for several weeks till they set a date. Day came and went with no service. My husband had taken the day off work! Another call and it transpired the man was sick but nobody thought to phone us! Again the promised return call to reschedule took a week where they said be within a day, repair men scheduled to service hoist Tuesday last week. Then Monday on our answerphone a message that it would be Friday instead. Again husband phoned Monday, explaining we were out Friday so that was no good. No call back as promised. Friday came and so did the repair man! I sat here amazed, unable to call out or get to the door he was knocking on. Yet again a very angry husband phoned. I somehow doubt the promised return call will come!
