Tip Toe Through the Tulips...

The last couple of days I felt really lousy. This morning, I fell into the abyss. I was no longer at the bottom of the mountain, I was in an abyss.

My daughter-in-law (DIN) asked if I wanted to go to the gym. I knew I had to and she knew she had to. Niether of us wanted to. I thought maybe it would make me feel better. She decided if we went in the morning, we would get it out of the way and we wouldn't have to think about it.

She asked me if I wanted to walk to the gym in this balmy weather of 40 degree weather. Yes, we have a break in the weather for one day. Since this is the next goal on my list, to walk to the gym, exercise and and walk back, I said, "OK." Note the enthusiasm. Yes, I used my walker...you think I'm crazy???

She's a brisk walker! I was winded when we were almost there. Also, I noticed along the way, "they" kept adding more properties between where we were and the gym. The road just got longer, "they" did that. We made it and I rested a bit and started hitting the machines. I was amazed. I worked on more machines and had less breaks than I did the last time I was there. I worked on the reclining bike and I just didn't have the energy I had the last time I used it but I managed to get to (3.5) minutes...(30) seconds longer than last time. I used the stairmaster, which I haven't used, and killed myself staying on for (3) minutes.

There was a machine, I don't know what you call it, that you stand on it and the pad hits your hip area and you bend over, kind of like an inverted sit up. My DIN challenged me to try it. I saw a young girl work on it earlier and I told my DIN, no way. She said just try it one time. So I did. I was able to do (15) bends (inverted sit ups?).

Then when she was finished, she asked if she should walk home and get the car. I had rested by that time and I wanted to try walking home so we did. DIN used her stopwatch and we made back in (11) minutes. A best for me. On the treadmill I've done (.5) mile just under (14) minutes.

I got rid of all the lousy feelings. I just have the electrical current going through my hands and arms. I can deal w/ that. This has been a good day. I climbed out of the abyss. Now I have to get moving again. I can't be sedentary for long. Take Care. LK
