Springtime

Betty Jean

Well, it's been a very busy time for me. I had to fix the clothes dryer, cut back all the plants and bushes that the one night of freeze we got ruined, plant some new plants and start to get my tomato garden ready for the plants. They just have to be planted tomorrow! In the meantime, I've been working with Jim's arm and hand to keep a good idea going. He says it hurts him too much so I'm going to call his neuro tomorrow and ask for a different med for him. Jim is only on amytriptyline at night and that just isn't enough for him so if it will help him wiyh his rehab I have got to get him some better pain control. I don't know if the pain is worse after a stroke or not but this man used to stand pain you wouldn't believe and now he just complains about it all the time so something has to be done. I just feel bad that I didn;t do something about it sooner. I guess I just thought he was being whiney. I'm ashamed to admit that but I think it comes from being a chronic pain patient myself. I have to live with it 24/7 so I expect everybody else to just deal with it and that isn't fair. Lordy! I try so hard to do everything right for him and then I *beep* up big time! Well, lesson learned, you can bet it won't happen again. Of course, I do need to mention in my defense that he has other botched surgery issues going on that are affecting his pain as well. Wtill doesn't excuse my behavior. Well, I really will do better from now on. Gotta go get some sleep, another busy day tomorrow.

Good Night All,

Betty Jean

Yummy, fresh tomatos. I have never been successful growing them in AZ.

Good for you for working with Jim and his arm exercises. Does he have a lot of tone in his arm? Does he take anything at night to help with that like zanaflex? If not, you might want to talk to the dr about that as an option.

I have a call in to his doctor to see if we can try some neurontin, although maybe some zanaflex as well would be good. I will suggest it and see what he says.

I usually grow so many tomatoes that I give them away because I can not possibly eat them all. Maybe we can work something out.
