I asked for Marley and Me for Christmas, and was fortunate enought oactually get it!!! I read it in three days, it was wonderful. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. It's such a nice read that I wish it could be reccomended for the book club, but as of now it is still in hard cover only.

I loved it so much, I read a few interviews with John Grogan on the web, and learned about the tv show- The Dog Whisperer from the interviews. (Grogan was featured in the premeire episode of the show this season with "Gracie")

Fred, I got my copy at the library. This county has a very active library system. I am able to do it all online but pick up the book, I reserve it and they call when they have secured a copy from whatever branch has one.

Krissten, the large type copy I got at the library is soft cover, but the price on back is 21.95. People should use their library systems if possible. If you live in an area that has a library - and a good one- they have so much to offer as welll as books. Clubs are based there on all sorts of things such as geanology, "new age" etc. Many have computers and give lessons (free - true, just the basics but enough to get one started) and a lot of goodies.

Where I previously lived, the library system had a partnership with schools (high) and the community college and in fact a University where residents were able to go to their facilities because of a partnership that was formed countywide. This is smart government to get more value for the same amount of $.

The last time Bill was in the hospital I started reading to him. This is one of the books I got. We continued on when he went to the SNF. I'm sure everybody thought I was crazy because at times I laughed so hard as I was reading that I had tears running down my face.

It really is a great book - and so true. If you've ever had a dog you know how they can take over!! And if you have ever had a dog who seemed .... ahem ... at times in need of special education .... well, you'll identify!

Try the library, or any of the book stores. I saw a copy at Target the other day!
